Not quite a speedo, but damn close. Gotta love them tightie whiteys. I only wish they were a tad bit tighter on him.

    Here you go.

Also, an already-existing Joe thread, including discussion of his "SNL" appearance, can be found here! Sometimes I wish people would use the board's search engine a bit more, as duplicate threads on the same person just end up repeating comments, pics, links, etc. Cooler to go the Wiki route idea where it can be pooled together in one thread.

I know there is a "Joseph Gordon-Levitt Gay?" thread but since I was commenting on the movie and what he's packing in his pants and not whether he is gay or not I figured it would be off topic to post there. Sorry for any repeats.

You repeat Joseph Gordon-Levitt as much as you want skinie!
He was adorable in that SNL opener (which I never saw before).
People need to chilax about these posts. We're just drooling over some celebrities, not taking a science exam. If a mistake gets made...a subject repeated...who cares?

    Re: Joseph Gordon-Levitt Gay?

I think he's one of the best actors in the industry right now.

If you look at movies like GI Joe, it's easy to scoff, but there's an interview somewhere about reading for that role as a break from his usual work (a tween-sized paycheck only secures him being able to continue his indie streak of rave reviews, imo). He's also worked with Channing Tatum in the past in Stop Loss - phenomenal movie, despite being a bit of a preach at times. I was glad he got the role as Cobra, even though it was a sad, sad bit of film aside from the eye-candy.

If you're wondering about Joe himself, look into movies like Mysterious Skin or Latter Days (he originally auditioned for Steve Zandvoss' leading role but wasn't buff enough). He obviously has an interest in portraying gay characters, but he also seems to love the idea of a beautiful woman, though he has made comments about male beauty. I dunno, Prince Harry gets drunk and licks a friend of his and suddenly he's liberated and enlightened as a straight male (how straight, I'm sure the paparazzi will keep us well informed).

So I would wager Joseph Gordon-Levitt is probably bisexual, wouldn't say so outright in a major interview, and probably (and admirably) really doesn't care what the chatter about him is one way or another. Either way, he has my sincerest admiration as an actor and a musician, regardless.

He's also as socially aware as they come, look up hitrecord.org to find out more about his promoting digital outreach.

Needless to say, I'm a bit smitten...

And no disrespect, HaydenXXX, but any openly gay or bi actor/actress of such talent and notoriety would give hope to millions of struggling adolescents with no real role models with which to identify, short of Johnny Weir, these days. And the last thing we need is any more attention whoring and shock-culture surrounding what is still a regrettable acceptance of inequality in the States. So in short, it would make a huge difference - perhaps not to you, but there are other people out there for whom it would.

Rupert Everett and Joseph Gordon-Levitt have about 20 years difference between them...the generation gap alone would render that comparison kinda moot.

Also, Rupert Everett isn't exactly method, or from what I've seen, all that socially concerned. And as far as any 3rd Rock reluctance, just look at the guy now.

Your comparing JGL with RUPERT EVERETT?!

    That's a new one.

I work here in Hollywood and it wasn't purely Rupert being gay that destroyed his career. It might have had a part--but a lot of his troubles had to do about his script choices and his attitude, not him being gay. Dude burned more than his fair share of bridges.

He had numerous opportunities to have a great career and he blew it--like a lot of actors here. Gay or straight.

Joseph certainly isn't making the same choices.

Joseph looking sick on the set of his new movie. He plays a sick person in "I'm with Cancer".

I can't believe they're actually making a comedy movie about cancer.....I smell a flop. Joseph shouldn't have accepted this movie role.

So Sir Ian McKellen isn't out, or is it just that he isn't a well known actor. I mean his most important role was as that Gangrene guy and all he did was to give a ring to Elijah Wood's character (who was so poor he couldn't even afford shoes! ). What was the name of that low budget movie, again???

Sir Ian McKellen came out over a two decades ago. He's been very open about being gay. Maybe people don't talk about it since his craft is what's important. Here's a quote from his Mckellen.com:

In 1988, he publicly came out as a gay man during a BBC Radio 3 discussion about the Thatcher government's infamous "Section 28" of the Local Government Act, making illegal the public "promotion of homosexuality." He overnight became an active member of the movement to change those UK laws which discriminate against lesbians and gay men. He is a co-founder of "Stonewall" which works for social and legal equality and he annually directs its principal source of funding "The Equality Show" at the Royal Albert Hall.

Apparently you did not even halfway understand my post. I was not saying he wasn't out. Read the post I was responding to, and then the first sentence of my post again. Granted I made a mistake and ended it with a period instead of a question mark, but with the rest of the post being as sarcastic as it was... How could one NOT understand? Or maybe its just that you don't understand sarcasm without it directly being stated to you that it is sarcasm???

What was the name of that low budget movie, again???

In interviews I have seen him in, I definitely get a vibe from him. I am not saying that he is "conclusively", however I do suspect him as he is on my radar.
    Telling it like it is.

I can tell you that JGL is straight. He is one of those very serious actor types who spends most of his energy on his career but not his public image. I worked on a project with him once and found him to be a great guy, low drama for an actor. He is also one of those guys who is ENDLESSLY pursued by women and enjoys it,

Someone in an earlier post mentions that Rupert Everett was thought of to play James Bond at one point--just want to clarify that----He was NEVER, considered to play Bond--but after his success with My Best Friend's Wedding, he was trying to get a project off the ground where he played a James Bond-like spy. Projects take a long time...but his career heat didn't last long enough to make that happen.
