Depends if you actually have a frenulum or not as to pain levels... I've seen guys who have been cut who clearly do not have one, and they have a shaft piercing instead but still call it a Frenum piercing. I'd assume they would hurt more than a true Frenum piercing.

The skin is very thin in the frenulum and when I got mine there was no pain at all! You could just "feel" it if that makes sense... So that was all fine. The healing took about 2 weeks before I could "wank" without serious pain (torture!), then for another 2 to 4 weeks after I'd simply take it out and put it back after having fun, haha.

All healed now... I do not regret it at all! It can make sex a bit better for me, although I don't think it makes a huge difference to any partner (but its not a massive barbell anyway!). Its more fun in oral sex.
