^ Those are some interesting ideas about the elder fairy. I knew her crazy ass was gonna die though because Russell's old ass is way too fast. I was hoping she had some super speed too but oh well. I also thought she was gonna stand right at the entrance of the doorway and just blast him from there. I just hope the rest of the fairies survive and trap Russell somehow. I want the members of the Authority to all kill each other or get killed by humans or something. I'm tired of the whole Lilith thing.

I think you hope in vain. Even if all the Chancellors die, the Shifters rescue the little girl, the Fae kill Russell AND Steve, and Alcide kills all the baby vamps in the parish, there will still be consequences to all that next season.

Of course, if they've been secretly canceled, they could just kill EVERYONE.

You and me both. On all that. One thing: Lilith telling each Chancellor that she's chosen him or her gives me hope that most of them WILL kill each other. It'd be nice if Bill was the last one standing...but only if someone sticks a stake in him afterward.

I was just like WTF at the finale, especially the beginning.

Here's a bonus scene to go along with the finale:

I'm so upset that I wasted time with this season. So disappointing.

NOTHING happened. And Christopher Meloni (sp?) and the Russell Edgington character were totally wasted when they had so much potential.

seemed like the most anticlimactic season finale ever.

can anyone convert that bonus scene into a downloadable avi?

Wow...just wow. This was just awful. Alan Ball should have stuck to the books' storylines. The thing with Jason was so out of right field that it was just dumb. He is bitten by Steve Newlin, and all of the sudden he can see his parents? So fucking stupid. Completely disappointed in this season.

I honestly felt the best part of the finale was the fairy birth back at Merlotte's. Andy's really grown on me & I loved Arlene & Lafayette's commentary.

IDK why they left that bonus scene out of the finale. The fact that Nora knows who Warlow is probably means that either Eric also knows of him/has something to do with it OR the Authority knew of him and he's a bigger threat than just Bon Temps.

    Re: HBO's "True Blood" [merged]

On July 2, 2012, HBO announced that True Blood had been renewed for a sixth season that will premiere in June 2013.

OZ lasted six seasons (the fourth one went almost a year so it was like two seasons in one)

Six Feet Under lasted five seasons

    The Sopranos lasted six seasons

Entourage lasted eight seasons but it was much cheaper to produce than True Blood

    Carnivale only lasted two seasons

Bill is Alan Ball's Favorite....if only he had the balls to kill him off for good...maybe then that would make the season finale worth it.
i hated how Jessica is all about Jason...The way Hoyt was turned from sweet lovable to total ass.
my two cents may not be worth a whole lotBut that whole Jessica/Jason affair from season four was the worst.
now...if he wanted to do something totally original..Keeping Jessica and Hoyt together would have been it.
Also...i maybe one in a very few.But i don't really like the Tara/Pam love thing.
I would rather see her with Sam...That Luna is an extremely annoying character.

I have mixed feelings about the show which had it's highs and lows thats for sure, and sometimes it got a little to confussing for my taste. I think Lafayette said it best in his last scene when he said

    Re: HBO's "True Blood" [merged]

I know it was hit and miss but again, its True Blood and overall I enjoyed the whole season. There were some time killers, IMO, like the fire monster, etc but I think it was so they characters would be in the show but IMO, they could have easily giving them a vacation after the baby kidnapping and use that as an excuse for them to be absent for a while and put more focuse on better storylines. Im so glad Russell is dead, that was just a waste of time and so was the Authority mess IMO. I found myself enjoying the fairys and anything with LaLa in it the most. If Alcide isn't naked, I really didn't pay him any attention and I enjoyed watching Sam shift back and forth and naked. I just knew Sookie was going to try to zapp Bill or something. The reappearance of Bill was nice but not a WOAH moment. They would have done better not to show it, just show Eric and Sookie's reaction and hear Eric tell Sookie to run.

Wow, I got almost everything I wanted. All my least favorite characters killed off, in many cases deliciously (Salome's was a particular favorite). I guess I really didn't think they'd actually kill Bill. It'll keep me watching.

He's hallucinating because of his concussion. None of the parents stuff is real at all.

Time, almost certainly. My guess is they'll put it in next season...or find some other way of revealing that Nora knows of Warlow.

    Re: HBO's "True Blood" [merged]

The next season is gonna be super confusing lol. I don't understand what the hell Bill is now. Nobody else could see Lilith so it seemed like she wasn't real and if she was real it doesn't make sense that Bill would become like her from drinking a small amount of her blood. I wanted to see Salome go out with some kind of fight. She should have smelled the damn silver in the blood or spit it out after she tasted it. Then she should have beat the shit out of Bill before he overtook her somehow lol.

Those stupid fairies should have figured out how to kill a vampire after being alive so long. They could have set Russell on fire easily. I did like the fight scene with Eric and his "sister" and the guards. I wish they had more vampire fighting like that. He slaughtered a bunch of them in seconds. I wonder why the other vampires never fly. You would think they would do it more often instead of running all the time.

    Re: HBO's "True Blood" [merged]

^ I believe it was mentioned in the first season (maybe the second?), vampires achieve flight with age. The oldest ones on the show are/were mentioned as Russell (2800+), Godric (2000+), Salome (2000+), Eric (1000+) and Nora (600). We've seen all of them but Salome fly, so I think we can deduce she could fly as well.

I just didn't really care for the finale, except for shifters being revealed to the world. That should make things a little more interesting next season.

Christopher Meloni was a deciding factor in my finally checking out the show, so I was more than a little disappointed at his early demise. And I have to admit that this last season didn't have the same punch as the previous ones, but I am still absolutely loving the show. What sucks is that after watching all the seasons over the span of the last few months, I dunno what the hell I'm gonna do until JUNE!!!

I'm usually more of a wolf guy, but TB's are also a bit of a letdown. Well, if you don't count Alcide being ridiculously hot.

So...I gotta know. Am I the only one who had a bit of a crush on Russell? Loved the "horsey" scene with him and Steve.

    My hopes for next season?
    1. More Pam, Jessica & Lafayette
    2. Less Sookie
    3. As far as Eric and Alicide are concerned...LESS CLOTHING!!!
and lastly, with all the buildup, I REALLY hope they don't drop the ball with Warlowe.

Oh, and I wouldn't mind seeing the werewolves becoming a little more badass.

    "Warlowe" is a backward anagram.

    Think about it.

    All will be revealed.

Is the show "True Blood" as good as they say?

Ok I have always loved the horror/thriller genre. And more importantly I have always loved vampires. And so with that being said. I realized that I have never watched A single episode of one of the most popular vampire shows out their True Blood. But I have always heard, and read about how great it is. And I have always wanted to watch it. But I never got the chance to catch it from the beginning. And so I was on Amazon A few minutes ago, and I seriously thought about ordering the complete first season DVD. But I'm kinda afraid to because I don't wanna order it, and get it home, and start watching it, and not like it. That would be A waste of money then.

I really wish that I could just watch the very first episode of season one. Just the first episode
just to see if I would like it. But I know the logical way of thinking is just watch the episode on the internet. And believe me I would if I could. But I can't. Reason why is because I have A very slow, crappy dial up connection. And it really does not allow me to watch any kind of video online. It takes me about 5 hours just to load A 3 minute video on YouTube for gods sake. And that's if it even loads at all.

So Should I just go ahead, and take A chance, and order the DVD off of Amazon. Or should I just hold my horses, and find some other way because I really wanna watch it. And please no spoilers for those of you who have seen it. And by the way, I have A big list of TV shows, and movies that I really wanna watch. And True Blood is near the very top LOL.

And I apologize Mods if this is in the wrong section.

I thought the first season had interesting writing and a good premise, but it wasn't something that I felt I had to watch every week. I haven't watched since then. I don't really hear people raving about it anymore now that the fad of it is in the past. You could see if one of the streaming services offer it.

The show gradually goes downhill with each season. Definitely. I think after S3 is when the quality really starts to deteriorate.

I think a lot of people just watch it out of habit now, in a 'so bad it's good' sort of way. The enthusiasm for it doesn't seem as strong as it once was.

i relate true blood season 1 to desparate housewives season 1.

both had a story long mystery arc, that was solved in 12 episodes, and then you get a resolution and then it has to find its footing again.

    This. You're so right.

But somehow I still enjoy it.

It's funny. Few shows enjoy the same enthusiasm at the end that they see at the beginning. One I can think of that does right now is Breaking Bad.

A recent show that I thought was good all the way until the end but people gave up on was Weeds.

Love_chair -- I believe True Blood is on iTunes. Why don't you just go buy the first episode since it's only 2 bucks and see if you like it? I know you said you're interested in just checking out the first episode before ordering the entire season.

I'm still perplexed that season five isn't being re-run on HBO's main channel. Only on HBO2 at 11PM Sundays. It also was only On Demand for about a week way back in March. Really, HBO? Millions of dollars spent on a new season and you don't care enough about promoting it to properly re-run last season in primetime on your main channel (which is the only one many people have an HD version in)?

The final Sookie Stackhouse book just came out this past Tuesday and I can't wait to get to the end to see how she ends it. The show can and will continue on because there are loads of other stories and paths to take. I'm only about a quarter of the way thru and one of the central characters have meet their maker.

My main issues about True Blood lately are:

    A) Jason. I used to like him, but I feel like the "All vamps are bad" thing is repetitive with him. Its very been there, done that for the character. There's nothing to look forward to with him & it seems like that's his main story this season. Hallucinating about his dead parents who complain about vamps was tiresome in the finale last season. I don't want to have to watch more of it again. I wouldn't be so bored with Jason if they took his character in another direction. So unless all his scenes are of him being bucky ball naked, then I'll shut up - but I doubt that's the case.

    B) Werewolves. Since their introduction, they've done absolutely nothing for me. I just don't care about them and I feel like the only reason packs are given screen time is because Alcide has become a main character & he bores me to tears when he has clothes on. So unless all male werewolves are bucky ball naked this season, I'm not looking forward to them either.

Apart from those 2 things, HOORAY. I'm looking forward to everything else.

    Here's the Season 6 trailer:

My favorite line from last season. Pam walks into Sookie's house and sees Debbie and Tara on the floor in pools of blood from gunshot wounds to the head. Sookie and Lafayette knelt over Tara. "Color me impressed, you guys know how to party," she says.

Wait, you guys mean this show actually has a plot, and people watch it for more than the men?!?!?!

I'm super excited about the new season, I'm missing my True Blood boys, specifically Sam and Eric. Damn, I'm gettin a bone just thinking about those two!!! Hahahah
