I just caught the first and second episode tonight and thought it was awesome.![]()
Just saw the second episode. I loved Ryan Kwanten getting tied to the bed. Does anyone have screen caps?
I thought it was annoying and boring and lame.
who wants to see Buffy the tralier trash vampire hunter slash short order waitress?
Gentlemen.... Thank you.
I swear, it was like Sordid Lives mixed with that silly Tarantino/George Clooney movie.
Gentlemen.... Thank you.
Not to brag--Ok totally bragging, the last guy I was "with"---looked like Ryan.![]()
A great show I can really sink my teeth into
Sorry, I could not help myself on that
Here is Ryan Kwanten

See I think the vampire hate DOES mirror homophobia.
And the underlying message is "Yeah, it's mean to hate them, but they ARE dangerous and if we don't kill them they'll kill us."
I still think it's boring watching a bunch of trailer trash cluttering up a perfectly good vampire show.
Gentlemen.... Thank you.
I thought it was really well done---I don't usually like TV adaptations but this was so good----the books stagnated for a bit but the last one was great.
I highly doubt that, since you know, one of the characters on the show is gay and he is one of the funner characters there.
ps. And since the shows creator always seems to have a gay character in his show. Like Six Feet Under where Michael C. Hall developed from a closeted gay man to a proudly open gay man. Which hardly is a gay character you see on tv.
He's also exceedingly stereotypical and slightly insulting.I highly doubt that, since you know, one of the characters on the show is gay and he is one of the funner characters there.

Dug it--VERY entertaining.
Luv'd the chic, dug the main vamp, and DEF DUG the horn-dawg str8 boywho has a wierd faciniation with the bald vamp(or is that just my fantasy..?)
n e way... VERY entertaining. What more can u ask of a flic![]()
I love it, however I also loved, "John from Cincinatti." They pulled it after one season, so I am surprised they came out with one that similar. Some of the props seem to be the same. Bill is even cooler than Lestat (who is bi). I loved the scene where the Enquirer was on the table with the headline, "Angelina adopts a vampire baby." Also, the sign at the church that said, "God hates fangs".
Some gay folks may be offended at the vampire rights stuggl ewhich parallels the gay rignts stuggle but I am not.
Maybe I'm a bit biased as it takes a lot to make me dislike something to do with vampires, but I'm enjoying the show so far.
The only things I'm really not fond of are the cheesy "power" they've shown the vampires using, like the really quick and jerky movements, etc.
Maybe it's because I'm from the south, but I really like the fact that it's southern "trailer trash". Too often when stories have to do with the supernatural they're set in quaint little New England towns, when in reality, some of the most "haunted" places in the U.S. are in the south, especially around New Orleans.
Thanks for noticing me.
Hot Damn!!! Every show keeps getting hotter and hotter. Surprised at the amount of gay content in the last episode. Seeing Ryan Kwaten dancing was hot as hell. Obviously that boy has no problem getting naked. I think that he has been naked in all of the episodes.
I really dig the show....it's cheesey...but fun....so I dig it
That was hotter than any porn I have seen. He has a great body. I hope we get to see him jack-off for the web which was part of the deal. They did show his character's sister masturbating a couple of times, thinking about Bill. Yes, vampires have that effect on me too. I loved it when she scolded the cat for watching her while she stroked her pussy. I wonder if these vampires can fuck. Anne Rice's ones just get off from sucking blood.
They can have sex...recall the video in the 1st episode where she taped the vampire having sex with her. And the last episode where Jason's gf/fuck buddy said that they have no problem staying hard.
I wonder why Jason flings keep getting killed off. Any theories?
Edit - Here is the video of him dancing
I just saw the eppy that was so hot.
Jason body so sexy. I was hoping that Lafayette would suck his dick in exchange for the V blood.
It was so homoerotic.

It really was...
HBO is really 'pushing the envelope' with the amount of 'sex and violence' in this show...
At times, you can really see Alan Ball's trademarks. It's not exactly subtle that the persecution and intolerance of vampires is representing what goes on in our own community... (The 'God Hates Fangs' sign in the opening montage kind of hammers the point home)
There's a commonality that Mr. Ball created in "American Beauty" and "Six Feet Under" that is very much in play, here....
I love it, but I'm just hoping it doesn't get too heavy handed. I fear it might collapse under it's own weight.
We'll see...

Just watched the 3rd episode. Liking it more and more as I see it. Bill is gorgeous.![]()
Alley, I really wanna know. I have a theory....
Ooo !
There's some significance to that stray dog that keeps showing up ?
Hmm. I should have figured that out by now.
I wonder... Maybe he's a soul of a past victim now rendered in canine form ?
Stay tuned.

Ok--spoiler
hi-light if you NEED to know.
Sam is a shape changer---he changes into the last animal he sees.
I have heard about it. Isn't it supposed to about how vampires are reguarded as the "pariahs" and they are viewed as different much like many minority groups are today? Kind of an art immitating life piece.
Thanks for your donations to Matthew Shepard. Total raised was over 10k. RIP Tyler.
Bill, he has the whole package to me. He has charisma, he looks good, looks like he would be a killer romantic and so on and so forth.![]()
Kinda figured as much, Alley. There have been clues (some not so subtle) in each episode thus far.
^You're pure evil.^
I *still* haven't looked, but after tonight's episode, I realized I missed a really obvious clue: "He barks like a dog in his sleep."
Hmm...
And the episode ended with that cutie that owns the bar sniffing the sheets.
Hmm... (again)
One thing I know for sure: This is one fucked up series.
I LUV it.![]()

Can i have a bottle of O negative please
I laughed so hard at that line.
The director is such a cock tease. Why did he zoom in on the porkchop if he wasn't gonna show the dick.
They could have used a fake penis like in Boogie Nights.

Hi guys!
I have a question for the English-as-a-mother-language speakers:
What do you think of the actors' southern accent?
I was curious because Anna Paquin is from Canada and has lived in New Zealand a lot, while Ryan Kwanten is from Australia.
I'm Italian, so I cannot tell if their southern accent is good or not (to me, they all sound like Dolly Parton!), but I'm curious about that...
Thanks
Bona to vada
Did anyone notice the picture on the wall behind the bartender in the vampire bar? It was Bush as a vampire biting the Statue of Liberty's neck. Talk about a political message.
I really am loving this series....and I totally highlighted that spoiler....I was close with my guess about the dog...haha
I think the prop guy must be a size queen. I have never seen a real dick the size of Jason's hard-on.......and when Bill scared the cop so badly he pissed himself, the urine flow started about a foot and a half down his leg.
I think Ryan and Anna do a good 'classic southern". Louisiana has a lot of accents. It is good they do not have them do Cajun. The neighbor dude this week, Renee, did it really well. He must be a native. Although, I saw an old movie where Dennis Quaid did it really well. Both classic southern and Cajun are spoken in that part of the state. In New Orleans, there is a 3rd accent that sounds almost like New York. By the way, Dolly's accent is more Appalachian Mountain than classic southern.
The picture is by Alex Ross and it was a The Village Voice cover back in 2004.
^ Thanks, Vanti !! ^
I kinda LUV that...
I just watched the most recent episode for the second time, and noticed a couple of things that slipped by me the first time through...
Mostly, I totally missed the old folks buying T shirts at 'Fangtasia', a nice little detail....
Also, how the general tone of the show suffers when Alan Ball neither writes nor directs the episode.
I'm thinking it's gonna be just like "Six Feet Under" in that regard. I don't expect him to do *everything* but you'd think he could at least direct or write every other one, at least.
