I'm not feeling it, she could have kept that one and I don't hear a lot of buzz on it so obviously its not going over like everyone though. Maybe when idol starts back, her new cd will be ready and she will have a new single out but this one is not hitting on nothing. I won't even discuss the guest rappers she has, which should be a remix, not a debut single for someone who has been out of circulation for so long.
But cracks have no place in a gay beauty pageant! - Dave from "Happy Endings"
I love Mariah but I hate rap, so I prefer the dance remixes. The original doesn't even sound like a Mariah song - she seems to just sing a few lines and the rest of it is filled with the (c)rappers. It's as if she's a guest on their record. I long for the days of 'classic' Mariah where she would sing full ballads or pop songs instead of just 'riffing' over shit guest raps. Thank goodness she records full vocals for the dance remixes.
I don't know why you didn't post the Pulse dance remix.
It Bops and doesn't have the rappers in it thank God

Sounds like everything else shes put out over the last couple of years. This sounds very dated. Maybe the next single will get her back on top.
Just read this on the Huffington Post.
It’s ironic that Mariah Carey‘s comeback single is called "Triumphant,” as the pop diva's new track doesn't quite live up to its name, bombing on the radio and dropping to No. 50 in iTunes. In fact, Mariah's big comeback is looking rocky.
“I think it’s really hard to get on Top 40 radio when you are over 40,” one top radio host tells me. “She’s trying to get street cred by having rappers on the song but it isn’t working. What’s really concerning her team is that most superstars' singles get in the top 10 on iTunes within the first days, just out of curiosity. It’s not like people are listening to the song and deciding they don’t like it; [with Mariah] they are not even listening.”
This bad news comes after a winning year for the music icon. Her adorable twins celebrated their first birthday, she remarried her husband, Nick Cannon, in Parisian style, and she became the highest-paid reality show judge in history, joining the "American Idol" team.
“I think it was a mistake releasing the song before she got on 'Idol',” says Carolina Bermudez, who just left radio station Z100 to join CBS' "The Couch." “If radio isn’t playing it, then that’s a problem.”

Should have saved her "comeback song" until after she'd appeared on American Idol.
If Jennifer Lopez taught us anything, it's that even the least talented arsehole with the most awful of songs can have a pretty decent come back thanks to that God awful TV show.
I actually love it, but I'm of her few fans that love hip hop. Think it's a pretty great collabo and her best chorus in years. And considering she's done a million self-acceptance/perserverence-esque songs, this is the hardest production from any of them.
Problem is, for a first single, it's awkward to hell to debut with a track in which you have no verses.
She be aight, though. AI starts in Jan, so that gives her time for a second single to mop up.
And if this flops? And the next song does? And the next album does? Guess what. She's Mariah. She'll keep recording anyway. And she'll eventually hit again.
It's kinda boring. She sounds like one of those anonymous singers they ring in for rap stars.
In fact, it even sounds like the guy is louder than her.
I have been busy, I didn't even know she had a new single out, thanks DigitalFudge for posting that remix, I love it, always love a new upbeat Mariah song.
Well hew else?Slayed

Not really. I honestly don't know why Britney decided to go on X-Factor. She really did not need it as she just had a successful tour and album before officially the X-Factor rumors even begun. In her case, it seems like X-Factor needs her as opposed to Britney needing the show.
i agree with the majority of the comments here
the song does sound very dated. like a left over track.
from what my friend said the other day, she has had three major flops : glitter, charmbracelet and MOAIA in comparison to her other albums at least. and this song also bombed.
i wish she would go back to the old Mariah. i though butterfly cd was a daring artistic move on her part.
i dont like it. too many rappers for me. i wanna hear more mariah.
The video for Triumphant is out. This song is slowly growing on me
Love that 3:45 "reach for the stars" bit she does.
she is the best singer of her time
but she comes out with really lame videos
except for a few like honey
otherwise she just strikes the same poses, movements from one video to another, and one concert to another.
it has become tiresome.
I like some of her videos but I don't get this one either, it seems very 1998.
what happened to her record coming out this year? didnt she banner it up something like mc2012 or something? was the album back in the works for tune up since triumphant was big fail mary?
I always had a sneaking suspicion that during her concerts, Mariah's mic would turn off when a backing track is played often when Mimi's "singing" those staggering high notes. She would obscure it by vigorous finger stabbing of the air then spin her back to the audience. But in this clip, it was quite obvious (see 2:55 mark then onwards)
so sad cuz i think she is the best singer (at least on records) of her generation.
Mariah can definitely do jazz, I hope she embraces more of it for her new album.
@8:12, Mariah does some crazy scat.
During her prime, MC was just amazing as I watched old MC clips on youtube.
But while My All is deceptively simple yet technically difficult, and Vision of Love/Vanishing/Lead the Way are just pure lung power de force, I think EMOTIONS is by far her most difficult song to sing (even MC cant do it at times).
Your thoughts?
Probably Emotions, the whistle notes are crazy
I'd say Outside because of all of the highs and lows.
One of her best ever songs also.
Oooh! This is a good question. 'Emotions' is definitely a contender because of the whistle note. But when you think of overall vocal toughness, I'm not sure it would win. My vote would probably be either...

just listened to her song, almost home and wow, Mariah sounded like a aimless sell out - the song as a noted music critic wrote, sounded like anyone could have sung it, it was generic and seemed obviously courting radio music fans. i wish she would at this stage in her career more musically daring ventures and truly stand by what she said that she's running after trends - because this song was.
This is not a single from her new album, its a track for the film "Oz the great and powerful" its supposed to be generic and geared towards a soundtrack / younger Disney audience. Just thought you should be aware of that before you start ripping her up about it. Peace!
Lol. Lmao.
Mariah Carey - Almost Home
^Her voice sounds weird in that song but I do kind of like it.
1:49 --> Ah, the famous butterfly diamond ring to remind us all she's still wealthy as fuck. I almost thought it wasn't going to make an appearance.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARIAH!
"Live your dream and never wake up." - Liam Payne
Been listening to this all morning:
Good times!
^That whistle register!!
Mariah's new single will be released May 6th. It's called "Beautiful" and feature Miguel.
So my friend sent me the new single, Beautiful.
It's easy breezy catchy which isnt so bad, but it isnt so good as well.
It sounded more like Miguel featuring Mimi my friend kept on saying.
My thoughts were: at this time and based on her numerous press release teasers, I really thought Mariah would come up with something musically daring and inspired, while again, i found myself humming to it and no matter whether you like it or not, it seems Mariah is really riding Miguel's tailcoats here and running after trends to score a hit.
Let me know if anyone wants a copy, id be wiling to upload.

Can we please take some time to appreciate Shep Pettibone's incredible remixes from her first album? He was simply amazing and these versions always blow me away!!

She reminds me of Donatella Versace for some reason.
