    Really?

You're just going to stop there?

How about the Illinois State Democratic Party Machine?

From Chicago, to Springfield, it seems as if 4 out of every five of that state's previous Governors end up in a penitentiary.

Interesting that the "Birth Place of Lincoln" and the father of the Republican Party should exemplify such "corruption."

In Blago's case you can't rape the willing.

Oh and where is that former Gov. of Ill.?

But apparently only "liberals" and "progressives" are capable of such self aggrandizing, political gain, and self promotion.

    I love these little chats.
Doesn't it make you a little UNCOMFORTABLE. to know that our current US President comes from that cesspool.

The justice system should treat elected officials, or any public official, who is found guilty of corruption very harshly. Corruption is too easy to get away with, so the law should make an example of the one's who get caught.

Isnt it interesting that Loki just threw out the amount of a million Bucks when he doesnt know ANYTHING that went down with the transaction IF there was one....

Like you said BP, Jesse Jr. can suck his Primary Specialist Dick and/or his Psych Doctors Dick but if he has done some shady shit with campaign funds he's gonna pay BIG like any other crooked Chicago Politician...

By the way, I always thought Jesse Jr. was a short-Little-Cuttie, what do you think? He's got the type of body that can easily Bounce up & down on a Dick...Short Guys are only useful in the bedroom these days..Their Big-Mouths are a big turn off outside the bedroom...Just'saying...

On a some-what positive note....Now that David "The Stache" Axelrod is back in Chi-town let's hope he can find another up and coming Politician destined for greatness...It took a 1,000 years to find an Obama maybe it'll take him just as long to find the Next Ant-Christ-potential candidate......

I gotta say something about David...I'd Deff Fuck him....Every time I see David on Morning Joe or his most recent appearance on Bill Maher he's got this Vibe that says "Cum Ride Me"....Have you really looked at David? I bet he's one of those Fuckers that Lay in the bed with his legs spread, raging Hard-on and just says " Go ahead and Ride me, I ain't doing a Damn thing in this bed but laying on my Back while you Ride my Dick..".....There's just something about him that tells me you gotta do all the work in the bedroom....

Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., (D-Ill.) was willing to trade campaign donations for appointment to the Senate seat being vacated by Barack Obama, according to a just-released report from the Office of Congressional Ethics...

OCE’s investigation centered on Raghuveer Nayak, an Illinois businessman and political fundraiser, who Jackson reportedly directed to raise as much as $6 million for Blagojevich’s reelection campaign if he would appoint Jackson to the Senate seat.

“There is probable cause to believe that Rep. Jackson either (1) directed a third-party, most likely Mr. Raghuveer Nayak, to offer to raise money for Gov. Blagojevich in exchange for appointing Rep. Jackson to the Senate seat, or (2) had knowledge that Nayak would likely make such an offer once Rep. Jackson authorized him to advocate on his behalf with Gov. Blagojevich,” OCE stated in its July 2009 report to the Ethics Committee.
    http://www.politico.com/news/stories...#ixzz2CyHBSr3Y

I cited "millions" because I've heard differing accounts on how much money Jackson offered to pay for the seat, but all accounts nevertheless agreeing that he was trying to buy the Senate seat, even if there wasn't enough concrete evidence to convict him in a court.

Loki...Jesse Jr. and Blag had meetings about the Senate seat....We do not know what happened or what was discussed during those meetings....Blag was caught & convicted by tapped telephone calls(and a Vendictive US.Marshall)...Jesse Jr. had in-person meetings with Blog and it's his word against Blags as to what was said....

It'd be best for everyone if you didn't talk about things you know nothing about. It is not Jackson's word against Blago's. There is taped evidence of juniors associates offering substantial campaign donations to Blago's people in exchange for the senate seat. There is also significant evidence that junior illegally used campaign funds to benefit himself and his wife. Stop trying to excuse the behavior of a criminal when you don't know the situation.

It should be a fairly uncontroversial position. However, it always seems to me that when there is government corruption, the justice system, with the support of public opinion, treat the guilty leniently. I think people believe, "everybody does it, and look, he gave turkeys to the nuns for their orphanage at Christmas, so give him a break."

When someone is in charge of other people's money, i.e. the taxpayers money, the breech of trust is so great, the guilty should get the harshest punishment possible. The arrogance of so many elected officials, and the ease of access to money, and the ease of disguising the malfeasance, make the temptation to steal quite strong. The deterrent effect of a long prison sentence is our greatest weapon to combat it.

It should make both of us UNCOMFORTABLE.

"that cesspool" that you speak of IS how U.S. Congresscritters, and U.S. Senators get elected.

Are you under the delusion that only the "best and the brightest" (from either party) actually want to get into politics for the "public service?"

Neither of the two party political machines are as transparent as many Americans seem to think.

"Candidates" are rewarded for their hard work, their connections, and what the party bosses think that candidate can do for them, and their party.

Do you honestly believe that either you or I could just throw our hat in the ring and even be considered a "candidate" just because "that's how democracy works."

Maybe if you're running for city council.

But look at all of the 2nd, and 3rd Tier Candidates who've came to national attention, that couldn't even GET elected in their local city council races, but are considered "viable" because they're "controversial," or "divisive," or stand out in a crowd only because of their brazen stupidity and the shit that comes out of their mouths, while appealing to the "emotive" side of any particular "base."

But on a State Level you're playing with the big dogs, and that includes whatever interests that the National Party (I'm still talking about BOTH parties) might have in mind, and your "viability" as a candidate.

I'm having a difficult time, from what I've manage to get up to speed on, that Jesse Jackson, Jr got to where he is because of his ability to "legislate," but had much more to do with his name, and the Ill State Democratic Party.

As has been suggested by many who live in or near the Great State of Ill, there's more to this story than meets the eye.

It's going to be interesting to watch how it plays out, why it really came to this, what is/was being avoided as a result, and who stands to benefit the most from it.

    I'm intrigued.

How do you think that I got interested and involved in politics in the first place?

    I'll leave it up to you to decide which of the two was a "fetish," and the other "kink." ;

He was "bisexual" and some years younger, and after I established myself within the party, and got my heart broken, I hired his restitution "wife" as a campaign adviser for the first political loss as a campaign manager that finally broke my "winning streak."

But because of him, I learned more about politics, and we learned more about love (and heartbreak) than either of us dared to predict.

I "outed" him to his family that were in attendance during my 38th birthday party.

    It was AWESOME!

He still calls me "Honey," and says "Yes Dear."

But Karma is a bitch, and so am I!

We need some Jerry Reed up in here!

So let's see politically how this rolls out.

Beyond the surface of everything, real people, and real lives are involved.

I read an article today about Jr. here. Apparently, he didn't want to resign and leave the decision of his replacement up to some committee that had it in for him. Can't say I don't see where he's coming from...

Had Blag not been under previous-investigation by a Vindictive US Attorney none of this would have come to light..Blag was an idiot for making any kind of deals on a landline phone when he knew the Feds was looking over his shoulder...Blag and his brothers come across as ignorant and they lack common sense......But do you really believe Blag is the First Politician/Dignitary to plot auctioning off a vacated seat?....This is nothing new in the world of politics.....Whether money is exchanged under-the-table or some type of "I suck your Dick if you Suck mine" deal this happens on the Local, State and National level....

I'm sure it goes on all the time in both parties. Harry Truman was a groomed product of Tom Pendergast, a crooked crime boss in Kansas City -- and he became President.

Of course, you've forgotten what history shows us, that Truman broke from Pendergast after becoming senator. He's named in most lists as one of the better presidents. Just ask Dewey! & MacArthur, the grandstander of the 40s & 50s.

consider it official, sounds like Jesse's going to jail.

Sneed first tipped this week that the deal includes significant prison time and that Jackson’s wife, Sandi, the former alderman, feels as if she were thrown under the bus by her husband.

Sandi Jackson faces a separate federal probe of her own campaign spending.

Jesse Jackson has allegedly misspent a large amount of campaign funds, including buying a $40,000 Rolex watch.

Anyone with bipolar disorder should not be in any major position of responsibility -- merely being diagnosed with that should have brought a resignation. That is his best hope for stabilizing the condition, in fact, since highly stressful positions are what the psych people call "contraindicated", meaning "get your ass out of there".
