His oscar show persona plays 100% on boyishness and naivete. How can he sustain this as his face gets progressively haggard into his forties?

Oh I don't think that he'll have much of a problem. Persona is more about personality than looks... I know plenty of 'older' people who are still young at heart. Some of them look young and some of them look old... but the persona they have shines through whatever age their body is. I think James is one of those people.

Of course there will be always be people who focus totally on appearance and ignore everything else. For those people that can't get past a few lines in his face then I guess his appeal will probably go down.

But if there's one thing about James Franco that I can say for sure (without actually knowing him personally) it's this: He's proven himself to be a chameleon. So if his age 'ruins' his boyish ability, I am pretty sure he'll find a way to adapt and keep people entertained and interested in him.

Last week I got an email from James Franco's agent asking if I'd be interested in collaborating with him on a homo-sex-art-film. A day later we were on the phone and a week later we're in pre-production! We'll be shooting at the end of July, Ill be editing in August, and in September it's going to play in a show in NYC. We're staying pretty mumsy on the specifics for now, but I can tell you that it's going to ruffle some feathers. Stay tuned!

Well this certainly is interesting news. For those who don't know, Travis Mathews gained some fame for a very well-received short film called I Want Your Love, which featured graphic gay sex, as well as an equally explicit documentary series called In Their Room. Might we see more of James than we've ever seen? Time will certainly tell.
