In a post published today, Hernandez writes that he met Garber last week at the TV Critics Association Press Tour in Pasadena, Calif. He asked Garber about a Wikipedia entry that said he is partnered with a man, Rainer Andreesen, with whom he lives in New York. “I wondered if that’s something public, that you’ve confirmed,” Hernandez said to Garber.

“He seemed surprised by the question but said: ‘I don’t really talk about it but everybody knows,’” Hernandez writes. “Garber then added: ‘He’s going to be out here with me for the SAG Awards.’”

It's more like he confirmed that he is gay rather than "comes out"...since it was already published in wikipedia as well that he's lived an out life already.

I had a crush on him when he was in Alias. I haven't really seen him in anything else.

He was in quite a few movies over the years, like Sleepless in Seattle, Titanic, Legally Blonde, Milk, and very recently Argo. He did another short-lived TV series Eli Stone a few years ago which lasted two seasons. He had done some guest appearances on shows like Glee, Ugly Betty, 30 Rock, etc.

He is also very well-known and respected in the theatre world, having been four-time Tony nominated.

It still matters. When the actors themselves give the official confirm a lot of the mainstream media would then report it. They wouldn`t do it otherwise. And many people out there have no idea. Just check out the comments on sites like Gawker and crazydaysandnights.

He's never previously had a public confirmation of his being gay, it's just been matter of fact with him. He has never done anything to hide his sexuality, unlike so many in the entertainment world who are paired with beards/ forced into arranged weddings rather than potentially blow their "marketability" to the studios and their agents because they are gay or bisexual.

Yes, he's gay. When I lived in NYC he and his former partner were my upstairs neighbor. I was 14th floor, he was 15th. Very nice guy.
