I've been listening to "I Miss You" a lot lately. I loved it immediately when I first started listening to 4, but I am absolutely obsessed with the song now.

For such a simple track... it is an extremely beautiful, moving work. The vocals, the lyrics, the beat...the atmosphere and everything about it just works for me in the best way.

    It is soooo simple....a feeling...

    but it's everything.

It's quickly climbing to the top of my list of favorite Bey tracks. Just under "Ring the Alarm", "Single Ladies", and "Start Over".

You and I need to hang out in real life! We seem to have a lot of things in common Asses, Chris Evans and Beyonce!

    BTW, I love 'Start Over.'

I love Miss U and Start Over a lot too.

Start Over with those African chimes/drum beats remind me of Lion King tbh.

I just went back and listened to the Dangerously in Love album (which I haven't heard in what seems like ages), and it's weird hearing how Bey's voice has matured over the years. I mean, she is on point vocally (as usual), but there was just something missing in it then that I hear now.

Like when she holds that "tonight" note towards the end of "Naughty Girl"...her voice sounds strong, but thin...if that makes sense. That's just a quick something that my ears "caught".

Bey not going anywhere until Bey decides to. No chick can compete with her, not even diva JHud. She may have strong pipes but she doesn't have the right songs or the moves like Bey. LOL@ "beyhive*

Beyonce is a sensationally talented performer. Absolutely. No doubt. Performer yes, artist , no.

I agree with that insightful commentary by a Time music critic about Beyonce. As far as artistry, I think Lauryn Hill was the last hip-hop rnb artist that truly deserved the Grammy accolade she got.

Ms Hill is head and shoulders above Mrs. Carter.

Mine too. There are only 1 or 2 songs I won't listen to, but the other 13 I will. I've been into "Rather Die Young" a lot lately.

I am the biggest Beyonce fan (bias because she's from Houston XD) but one area I think she needs help with is her interview skills. A lot of artists lack that. The words and phrasing and how they stumble to try to find the right word. I cringe when she's asked a difficult question. lol

Ellen lacks this as well and she's the interviewer! And she has to do this every day! She stumbles, stutters and trails off at the end of her questions. lol It's funny how after so many years, she can't get it right. I still love her though.

So the whole "I Was Here" thing comes off extremely insincere. Just not feeling it. Hell, I prefer the Lea Michele version.

@Huntneo Beyonce did a charity thing at the UN for World Humanitarian Day (August 19th) where she sang "I Was Here". She sounds great live (lol like she wouldn't), I just don't like it.

    Beyonce without her wig

Am I the only one who thinks she doesn't look nearly as attractive? Sinead O Connor and maybe a few others can pull this look off but Beyonce looks just bad. Maybe it's because we're so used to seeing her with her long hair.

Just because I feel like sharing. Here's my top 5 favorite songs from Bey:

Ring the Alarm (the intensity of this song still amazes me)
    Single Ladies (fierce as HELL)
I Miss You (gorgeous in every way...beautiful, moving, and perfectly simple)
Start Over ( it feels very urgent, coupled with a production that has just the right hint of melancholy for me)
Naughty Girl (sassy, sexy, and a fun listen every time)

    Press conference here:

Says to stay tuned after performance as she has "news" for the fans! Possibly new music? She did answer that after the host asked about her tour!

I hear the response to the Halftime show was mixed.
Personally I thought Madonna's was way better. Which is not to say it was bad, it was just okay. I got so bored at the end, I didnt even finish watching her sing Halo.
The visuals of the two people (almost) kissing was really not as good as what Madonna did with collage ish looking thing during vogue...The entrance was not as epic either.
and that thing she did with the screens during Baby Boy...I couldnt help but think...er didnt you already do something similar during your Run the World performance at the Billboard awards or something? lame

I liked the Destiny's Child bit. Kelly looked amazing...and watching Michelle's performance...wow no wonder she's everyone's least favorite.

    ^I agree.

There's no denying Beyonce's abilities as a performer, she can entertain and proved that this past Sunday on the world's biggest stage. I applaud her. However that performance was a literal mash-up of various award show performances. Plus her setlist just seemed off, not really the best choice of songs, and didn't really surge well together.

Beyonce's HBO Doc Pulls 1.8 Million Viewers

Beyonce proved a huge draw for HBO on Saturday night.

The intimate documentary about the singer, Beyonce: Life Is but a Dream, pulled 1.8 million viewers during its inaugural outing at 9 p.m. ET. It's the largest audience for a HBO doc since Nielsen revised its method of measuring viewership in 2004.

The only other documentary to approach Beyonce's haul was previous record holder When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts. The Spike Lee miniseries about the devastation caused to New Orleans by Hurricane Katrina earned 1.7 million viewers in 2006.

Life Is but a Dream's handsome haul pulled three times the ratings of recent first-runs for HBO's Sunday series Girls.

After watching the Super Bowl and Life Is But A Dream I really can't help but admire Beyonce's work ethic and ambition. Her drive is inspirational. She really is a true star and powerhouse performer. However, I also can't help but feel like she is completely self-absorbed and more addicted to fame than she likes to give off. At the end of the documentary I felt like it was more of a meticulously edited and staged promotional device attempting to humanize Beyonce rather than a documentary showing the "real" her.

haha...glad to see I'm not the only one who gets that vibe from her.

I love her (music) to death...but I'm totally with you on this.
