Concerning music, I'll reiterate, artists do not rely on major producers for their albums. Will the artist use a major producer for few tracks, possibly. For example, Beyonce used Scott Storch as a producer for her first solo album, but she used other producers who were more obscure.

Timberlake used The Neptunes and Timbaland for his whole first album and Timbaland for his second album. The second album is pretty much Shock Value 1.5 feat. Justin Timberlake as the singer.
