Hey guys, I come here a lot and read so many stories I kinda thought hey why not give it a go. So you lucky people get the opportunity to read my first attempt at fiction since I wrote a story about vampires when I was 10, and that was a 2 page long pop-up book...the only way to go is up!
So yeah the title is stolen from the Whitney Houston song which should prove to be relevant to the story, in some way...at some point.
Rob rolled over in bed. He really needed to get a better alarm clock. Jumping out of bed he tripped on a dirty magazine on the floor. It’d been weeks since his mother had dared to venture into his dump for a room, but he put it away just in case. His mum knew he’s gay, he’d told her over a year ago, but he didn’t really want the embarrassment of her seeing his porn. He checked his diary and was glad to see he wasn’t starting work until 1pm the next day. As much as he wasn’t really looking forward to this party, he gathered if it was rubbish he’d call up a friend and go to the pub instead. Either way he wasn’t planning on an early night. Work was frustrating, home was claustrophobic, and Rob really felt the need to let himself go. He took a quick shower, and as he was drying himself he couldn’t help staring at the full-length mirror he had in his bedroom. Like most teenagers, he really hated his body sometimes. He’d been getting skinnier over the last few months and didn’t like the changes. His last relationship hadn’t ended well, and looking at himself he doubted another man would show an interest in him. He shook his head and said quietly “stop feeling sorry for yourself,” he remembered what his best friend had told him, that nobody was ever going to love him if he didn’t love himself. Rob thought that was a bit bollocks really. Loving yourself is just being vain and arrogant. He didn’t think he was looking for love anyway. He had thought he was in love with his first boyfriend, and now he was just a painful memory. At 19, Rob didn’t really feel the need to fall in love, not if it was only going to cause problems. He just felt frustrated that it’d been a while since he last had sex.
He pulled on some jeans and a T-shirt, nothing too fancy; it was only a casual party. A friend was turning 20. Rob liked Karl, but he was tired and really couldn’t be arsed to go to the party. Karl was a friend of the family, and whilst he liked him he didn’t know him particularly well, and was pretty certain he wouldn’t know anyone else at the party. But since his mum was friends with Karl’s mum and Karl wanted him there, he felt obliged to go. He left a note for his mum on the kitchen table and left the house.
There were a lot of people in Karl’s garden, but looking around Rob couldn’t see any friends. As he had suspected Karl had greeted him, thanked him for coming and buggered off with his friends. Rob saw the drinks table by the fence; he supposed he might as well take advantage of the free drink. He looked at the crowd of people and saw a few straight couples making out. Then he heard a guy behind him speak.
“I would’ve told them all to get a bloody room, but unfortunately I went in the house and it seems other couples have already taken them.” A girl laughed and then walked away into the crowd. Rob turned around to get a look at this guy and wasn’t disappointed. Tall but not as tall as himself, nice hair and eyes, and glancing over his body he definitely felt he wouldn’t mind obtaining permission for further investigation. The stranger by the punch bowl smiled at Rob and said, “You look a bit lost there.”
Rob smiled, “I don’t know anyone here except Karl.”
“Join the club, except that girl I was just talking to she’s in my form at school. I don’t like her very much though.”
“So she’s not your girlfriend?”
The stranger laughed, “Fuck no!”
Rob introduced himself, and learnt the guy’s name was Callum. Callum lived a couple of doors down from Karl and only vaguely knew him. He was 18 and in his last year of school.
“I’m hoping to go to Uni next year.” Callum explained.
“Me too, I’m just taking a year out right now.”
Rob couldn’t help but stare at Callum, and had to keep making himself look away to not look like a total pervert! He thought Callum was giving off gay vibes, but he had been wrong before. His gaydar seemed to base its findings on wishful thinking sometimes! They talked about Karl and Uni and everyday things. They had a lot in common; both of them were very interested in music, but what Rob really wanted to know Callum wasn’t telling. Hopefully that didn’t mean there was nothing to tell. Callum started talking about how he was thinking of getting a tattoo, and Rob saw a window.
“My ex-boyfriend is a Tattoo artist, doesn’t charge as much as some of the others.” Rob suddenly thought maybe he shouldn’t be talking about exes to a guy he wants, but he’d really just wanted to casually drop his sexuality into the conversation to test the water. He was disappointed when Callum’s response was fairly cold.
“I hope he didn’t make you get matching tattoos.”
Rob just laughed and said he was tattoo free.
“So no tattoos? What about boyfriends got any of those?”
Rob replied that he was single. Callum looked straight into his eyes and spoke suggestively.
“We’ve only just met, how do I know you’re not lying about the tattoos? I might have to relieve you of some of that clothing just to check you’re an honest man Robert.”
Rob blushed. Cheesy as the line was, it was much closer to the talk he wanted to hear from Callum.
After that there was no stopping the talking and flirting until 3 am, when they realised everyone was starting to leave. Rob told Callum it’d been nice meeting him and turned around to leave, hoping Callum would make a move. Despite all the blatant flirting Rob still felt paranoid that Callum wasn't really attracted to him and was scared he'd blow him off...and not in a good way. He said goodbye to Karl and when he turned around, Callum was there. Callum stepped right up close to Rob, put a hand on the back of his head and gently pulled him down a little to kiss him. The kiss was small and gentle, an innocent teaser. When they broke away Callum gave Rob a piece of paper.
“Here’s my number. I’m free on Friday night and all day Sunday. I’d like to see you again.”
As Callum turned around to leave Rob looked at the paper. Below his number Callum had simply written, “The party was dull. Thank fuck Karl has interesting, sexy friends like you! xx” Rob smiled, putting the number into his phone straight away so he didn’t lose it. In bed that night he couldn’t stop thinking about Callum. He had been attracted to him straight off, but talking to him made it a lot worse. He stroked his cock slowly thinking about how soft Callum’s lips had been, and how he so desperately wanted more. How he wanted to kiss Callum again with passion, feeling his tongue against his. He imagined Callum’s beautiful lips around his cock as he starting jerking faster, until letting out a moan as he came over his hand. He licked the cum off his hand and rolled over to go to sleep, hoping that soon his fantasies might become reality.
