Just the "illegal" parts, whatever that meant. Blurred so that actors cannot be implicated doing illegal things. Consensual sex is not illegal, so those parts may not be blurred.

Although this is all speculative. This movie seems to be very early in the works. Shia has only read the script.

It might be for a role, but you never know with Shia. He definitely marches to the beat of his own drum. I actually respect his individualism. It's somewhat refreshing in Hollywood with so many pretty boy clones on the enviable side of the velvet ropes.
