The Mods received a post report from a member alleging that this thread contained clips which contavened the JUB rules - both in that there were full length clips pirated from paysites and that one or more of those may also be from companies listed on the JUB "Prohibited Content" list.

The thread has threrefore been removed from the public forum so this can be checked - but given the length of the thread and the number of clips posted, this is likely to take a while.

It wasn't me. I don't have a problem with others' posts. Mack does not have a problem with sharing his photos or his video clips from his site (as long as no one is claiming to be him).

Everyone has been rather respectful in regards to my and Mack's request.

Having said it wasn't me, can I still get the slaps? Don't worry, you don't have to be gentle.

What a shame! Prince was a real prince. He attracted a lot of people to this forum, and I presume those people will now go elsewhere. It does seem strange that with everyone filesharing these days, a technicality should mean the removal of your most popular thread.

I think Prince also generated a great deal of free publicity for a lot of paysites and studios, and also some revenue. The people who complain about their content being 'stolen' are shooting themselves in the foot. Ok guys, back to the bear video-blogs and P2P networks.

Hey i still have some videos that i haven't posted here uploading on Rapideshare.
Where i will post them i still do not know. Also i was thinking to stop using rapidshare and use Pando. I'm testing Pando with my blog of computer software and people tell me its good. So i might do the same thing with porn. But i can tell you with both uploading here and my blog, and with work and studies its getting harder to concentrate on friends and mostly my BF................ Time will tell...............

I can't believe they deleted this thread unannounced...I agree the mods should have posted a notice of some sort on the board. This was the only thread I visited on JUB ...there are very few bear clips on P2P networks. I hope that prince_rn finds a new home soon..what a shame all his hard work got unceremoniously dumped (on a weekend, no less!)

results in "presumed guilty" and one must "prove their innocence" FIRST.

With hopes that this fizzles to nothing,
I post my unsolicited opinion:

I can only guess that if someone complained that JUB is objectionable
in it's entirety, the powers to be wouldn't kill the entire site until the
complaint has been fully investigated...

I would think that it should be incumbent upon the complainant to provide
positive proof that a specific post or posts are objectionable, illegal, etc.
Then, and only then, a moderator should remove only those post(s).
NOT a wholesale removal of an entire thread.

Anyway, that's how it would work if I were Emperor of the World. lol

In the meantime, visit the blogs,
learn well how to use search engines and other sources,
and network with others "man-to-man".
You wont miss a beat.

Well, I think that any message board or blog site says that you can't post copyrighted material for distribution, so it's just a matter of time before it all goes away.

I think it is probably JUB's concern to make sure that they don't have anyone coming after them for aiding in the distribution of copyrighted materials or something like that. I know a lot of production companies and paysites don't like having their stuff distributed around for free. And I can understand that. They work hard to make the stuff and they want to get their money for it. I read somewhere on the internet that supposedly TitanMedia and Colt Studios are very big on going after people who distribute their videos around on the net for free. They don't like it. And I can see why, in some respects. But I also realize that it can be difficult for some people to get to see movies any other way. I own a few Titan movies but they are pricey and I don't think the average person can afford to buy them on a regular basis. I bought some because I could afford to at the time but at $50-60 dollars for one movie that is rather expensive, even for a single gay guy.

I don't think it is much different than the situation with music. I found out once that the cost to make a CD is around $1.00. The rest of the $13.00 and up that you pay for that CD goes to pay the songwriters, the producers, the artist, etc. Personally, I think CD's are a bit pricey still and that more people would buy them instead of getting music off the net for free if they weren't quite so much. But that's another topic. So to my point...

I say all that not to say that you should stop getting all this free porn and start paying for it. I was enjoying some of the movies being posted in that thread but I also understand the site wanting to protect themselves. I assume most of the movies were not home movies and were copyrighted even if they didn't say so in the clip. I actually have been coming here ever since this site first started (I remember when it was linkmeallover.com before this) but I hadn't been here recently until I went looking for some new bear movies to watch and came across this thread from a Google search. I decided to join while I was checking the thread out and thought about submitting some of my own clips. But I won't turn around and leave just because of this. There are plenty of other things to do here as well, and also, they still have one of the best free directories for gay pics that you'll ever find in my opinion. I thought about mentioning a little about my attempts to find vids/clips of bears/chubs/etc. on the net using p2p/torrent programs and newsgroups and the like but that would probably take too long. I have already written more than I thought I would. It does seem sometimes like everywhere you turn there are muscle and twink vids galore but bearish ones not so much. But maybe I should just write a blog about my searches. What worked best/didn't work well or at all, etc. Does that sound like a good idea?

Anyways, like someone else mentioned before, you can find vids and clips on the net it just takes some perseverance and working at it. I guess it all boils down to the "As long as no one complains, we won't do anything" situation. It might be interesting to know who it was that said something and why, but I don't know what knowing would do. Anyways, that's my 2 cents worth, as they say.

What you say makes a lot of sence to me. And as you say a lot of us cannot afford to buy videos outright.

It would be a great idea to start a blog relating to your search efforts and to allow others to post their search results too. And to give advice to us technophob's on how and where to do these searches.
Let us all know if you go ahead with this blog. It would be good.

aww man! brandon. your thread was one of the best in the forum, it sucks that a forum like this doesnt say anything before deleting a thread. this forum is of course not for everyone.

Well, I thought about it a lot today as to all the things I tried to find good porn ever since I got on the net in 1997. I think I can hopefully write something that doesn't take more than an hour or two and hopefully save some people the trouble of trial and error. I've had that done for me a few times by reading about other people's experiences on the net about things. Torrents are pretty good from what I have seen so far but I've only been using them about 8 months or so. But I've gotten pretty good with them I think. Anyway, I'm new to blogging but hopefully I can write something without being too technical for newbies. Anyways, you can check for it in couple of hours and I think I'll be done. And if you read anything you don't understand, feel free to send me a message and ask for more information. I don't mind.

BTW guys - these threads (obviously someone moved the Daddies one as well) HAVEN'T been deleted.

They have been moved out of public sight into the Mod Forum, because of concerns that there are a good number of those clips that contravene the JUB CoC (ie, full length clips from paysites etc) and the possibility of legal implications for JUB if the companies who own them should wish to pursue this.

In order to see if the threads can be restored, they are going to have to be checked, and any 'illegal' content removed.

Given the number of pages on both those threads, this could obviously take quite a long time (and we aren't even sure who, if anyone, is going to be able to do it at this stage).

Just as a reminder, this is Point #20 in the JUB CoC (if everyone actually followed the rules there wouldn't be a problem!):
Do not share, ask to share, or link to Bit Torrent files or other pirated videos. It is not OK under any circumstance to share videos from any membership site that normally requires a fee to view the videos. This is expressly prohibited. This includes links to rapidshare and similar services that exist to infringe on copyrights.
