My PC clock is messin up

This morning it was an hour fast. I reset it. I just noticed that now it's a half hour fast. What gives? Any ideas?

if there isn't something fucking with your software clock, probably your bios battery is running low. you can get a new one for like 10$ or so. looks like a big wrist-watch battery, you should be able to spot and replace it easily by yourself

Do you have a program or something running that may sync your clock with something? Windows has a built in utility to do this, it could be that, that is screwing up. Its unlikely it is your BIOS battery, because as long as you don't shut off your computer, your clock will run fine

If your computer is more than 4 years old it likely is the cmos battery.
Usually easy to locate...........sometimes LESS easy to get at...........and watch the polarity when and if you remove it...... .........should you not find any other causes for the clock to keep screwing up.
If the clock isn't set right some IM apps won't work either............

Perhaps you are being sucked into a black hole, FPNY, and your computer is recording the resulting distortions in the space-time continuum.

Then again, it could just be the battery.

I'm sorry, but I wasn't able to find a tutorial on how to deal with the aliens and their black holes.

^ The clocks on computer motherboards are notoriously cheap and inaccurate.

If you require accuracy, use a program which can sync your PC's clock with a standard time signal over the internet.

Of course, if your PC has recently been traveling faster than the speed of light, this, too, could account for the time increase. Slow down.

As cool as that'd be, don't you have to pay for them? I would've thought there'd be a free one...

^ Sorry. I just cut and pasted the first two I came across. I didn't pay any attention to the cost.

I think this one's free (Win XP only):

There are some free ones here, too, I think:

BTW, I haven't checked any of these downloads to make sure they don't load adware or anything. You're on your own. (I'm running Linux right now).
