The "old democrats," Sir, became new Republicans. LBJ chased half of the racist scoundrels and malingerers out of the party with a big Texas-sized boot to the ass. This purification process was accelerated by that paragon of paranoia, kooky Nixon and her "Southern Strategy." We lost white sheeted Democratic Southern senators to the welcoming arms of the grand wizards of the GOP and should be mighty glad of it -- it removed an awful stain to our party.

And besides, the Republican party is home of religious fanatics and freaky social misfits and malcontents like David Brooks, Chuck Krauthammer, William Kristol and Ann Coulter. The best remedy for all the lies, smears, racist ads, and yes page molestation is to contribute to democratic candidates if you can, volunteer to post signs or work at a phone bank, and of course to vote and take a friend with you. Don't waste your anger and disgust by simply complaining. Exercise your democratic perogative!

By now, most people have a fixed opinion of George WTC Bush -- it isn't a favorable impression. Most Americans do not trust him, most Americans believe he lies to cover things up or to get his way, as is the case with Iraq. But I believe Bush's bald faced lie about his flip-flopping on Iraq fully denies him any remaining cred as the commander in chief, or as he calls himself, "The War President." It's painfully clear that Bush and his lackeys have used the term and the so-called "strategy" of "stay the course" for over three years; now, two weeks before the election, he's flip flopping so as to save his majority. I don't think many people buy it, but his hubris and, frankly, his dishonesty, cannot be missed.

Bush's lies are reflective not only of his very strange personality and lack of morals and honor, it has become the single groupthink of millions of Republicans -- millions. George Bush has made 30% of this nation into wiling pathological liars, just like him.

If one were to search for a single word to describe the culture of Bush's GOP, I think that word would be reckless: they just don't care about the consequences of their actions. In ways that resemble a sociopath, these creatures do not heed warning signs, they don't consider how things might go wrong, they don't care about the effects their decisions have on society, they do not apologize or even admit their errors. They gladly and fluidly lie about anything -- they lie because it is easier than persuading or convincing others of the merit in their plans, and because they have nothing but ignorant contempt for those who do not agree with them. It is this wild abandon, this ease they have in telling lies that undermines everything they say and do; it also undermines the nation and the world.

Bush, a curse on our nation beyond anything we've ever seen, will be gone in a couple of years, but he leaves behind a chunk of America that is well practiced in the dark art of dishonesty and reckless unaccountability. I don't know how one de-programs millions of creatures suffering that syndrome, but sadly, they, unlike Bush, will still be here in two years.

If he's going to flip-flop on issues, he shouldn't launch crusades against others he perceives as flip-flopping (people in glass houses etc).
But then, he has never been recognized as having intellect, much less superior intellect.
