National GOP says Ohio is OVER!

Yesterdays NY Times reports that national GOP isn't sending any more money to the Ohio Senate race cause Sherrod Brown has opened up a sizeable lead over DeWine. The same poll says Strickland in front of Blackwell by double digits in gubernatorial race there.

And the darkness was lifted over the land of Ohio...
Someone asked me once how I could know that I'm gay if I've never slept with a woman. I've never shoved shards of glass into my eye, either, but I don't have to give it a shot to know that it's not for me.

It looks like the GOP is diverting cash to races that still have a rat's chance. They are on the run...

Maybe they will send the money to Colorado. Our 5th district - Colorado Springs, once the GOP's safest House seat, often has polls showing nearly tie between GOP and Dem candidates. I expect Doug Lamborn (R) to win, but it is funny to see such a safe GOP seat, last time it was won by 71%, be truly contested.

Colorado has a lot of close seats this year, and may end up becoming even more purple-blue.

If it's true about Ohio, it is the sign of the GOP facing up to the potential disaster that is coming in Nov.

The only thing that could steal defeat from the jaws of victory for the Dems...is the Dems.

Charlie Rangle is crowing about rescending ALL the Bush tax cuts, that economist say have worked in spades, fueling a robust economy.

Rep Conyers wants to start impeachment hearings in a time of war. I don't think America is ready to go through that again.

Rep. Murtha is all for fighting the war with Islamic militants, providing we draw the line in Okinowa.

Rep. Pelosi's shrillness makes a date with Hillary seem desirable by comparison. How fun with her as Speaker of the House.

Sen., (to be majority leader), Harry Reid, will usher in a new age of ethics in Congress. By the way, Reid took money from Jack Abremoff and has three sons who are currently registered as
Congressional lobbyist, who are paid to lobby...well...Dad.

Like it or not, the election is going to turn on the War. If the Dems do what their every support group, activist and checkwriter for them wants and presides over the American withdrawl from Iraq and the Middle-East, they will, like it or not, bear much of the fall-out from the ensuing result of that.

As disasterous as the war is, the final American withdrawl will be catastrophic. Hate Bush or not, he is largley correct in his assesment of the long term problem of the Islamic world and the West. If democratic forms of government do not, in some way take hold in the Islamic Middle-East, a long, long, future of global terrorism, including NUCLEAR terror is our fate.

One billion Muslims are not going away. They are the last region on planet earth to largely reject the concept of individual rights and representative government. For those of you who are fans of the U.N. The Islamic world is heading at freight train speed AWAY from what the U.N. envisioned for the world and enshrined in it's Charter of Rights. An Ameircan defeat in Iraq will spell the end to any democratic movements in the Islamic Middle-
East for some time to come. That part of the world will continue to grow ever larger with an exploding population. Ever poorer and poorer. Ever angrier and angrier. Ever more radicalized and bent on global Jihad.

Or perhaps, Diebold, Sequoia, or Triad... although they wouldn't dare mess with Pennsylvania or Montana and the districts Dems pick up in the Northeast. It will have to be close races in midwestern/southern states.

BTW, the Dems have been doing the best job I've seen since since Clinton in 1992. Even the 1998 and 2000 congressional pick-ups were done with less Dem initiative, seen as how they were just caught like deer in the headlights when it came time to challenge the legitimacy of the stolen state of Florida.

Hehehe... why Jack, what can you expect from seapuppy? He is a GOP partisan shill, after all... not sure if the RNC pays him for the 'shit' he comes up with or it's on the [dog-]house, but it's still entertaining how desperate many can be..

Actually, I'm a registered indipendent who has liberal views on some issues, conservative on others and don't trust, pretty much, any politician of any stripe. To the rabid Left that post on CP&E, that just will not do.

If not for their hatred of all things Bush, Republican, Neo-Con, they would not have a reason to live.

p.s. He is a Golden Retriever puppy who is registered with the 'I wanna nappy' Party.

It's telling that they have to attack you and not your argument, hm?

He's a cute puppy, I prefer Samoyeds myself, but have had a lot of goldens in my life as friends dogs.

Rangel, Conyers, Murtha, Reid, Pelosi, have been most unfairly characterized in your post, in my opinion. And I yearn for a day soon when they are the majority party in Congress after all the shit we have had the past number of years with republicans in the majority.

And I think a hatred for the current administration is a sign of health. Hatred for an adminsitration is not too strong of a term for those who have made the parsing of the word torture a part of their fradulent wars, when they aren't using hatred of gays as a class value.

Indeed... this kind of view and characterization is typical of those Americans who want to keep going back and forth... back and forth... instead of actually letting us go forward, for once...

I used to be a Democrat but now I am an Independent. I am fiscally conservastive
(pay as you go) and liberal socially (let people be who they are) which is where lots and lots of people are. My view is I do not trust either party. I want mixed government so that compromise is necessary. That way we the people have the best chance of getting something done. 6 years of all Republican rule has been a disaster on so many fronts it is almost impossible to count them all. All
Democartic rule would be just as bad. We need a viable third party in this country
so that the two traditional parties start to shape up. John Wesley

Actually, isn't the point of needing true compromise is that nothing gets done so government can't fuck us?

Hooray -- Finally an awakening agen' in the Land of the Ohio -- home to eight of our U. S. Presidents

Warren G. Harding -- A newspaper editor in Marion, Ohio

William Howard Taft -- The 27th U.S. President, he was the first and only president to become Chief Justice of the U.S. & in addition to President John F. Kennedy, President Taft is the only other president who is buried in Arlington National Cemetery

William Henry Harrison -- Unfortunately, he was the first president to die in office, serving only one month, the shortest term of any president

Rutherford B. Hayes -- He ended the Radical Reconstruction and withdrew federal troops from the South during his term -- Served three terms as Governor of Ohio

Benjamin Harrison -- He was the grandson of William Henry Harrison -- During his term, six states entered the union: North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming and Washington

James A. Garfield -- Served as President of Western Reserve Eclectic Institute, (now known as Hiram ollege)
-- President Garfield joined the Union Army and fought in the Civil War

William McKinley -- The third U.S. President to be assassinated

Ulysses S. Grant -- A graduate of West Point, he fought in The Mexican War under General Zachary Taylor and was 39 years old when he volunteered to fight for the Union in the Civil War

This proved to be a false story. (Ditto for Pennsylvania). The Times was engaging in some wishful thinking. DeWine may well lose, but neither he nor his party has given up.

I believe that you're correct. Last I read, DeWine had plenty of his own war-chest, something like a 2-1 advantage over Brown. While the RNC and its official organs may not be spending any money on that senate race, they are still spending in Ohio on other races. Nothing like throwing bad money after bad people, money that, given the track record of Ohio Republicans, was probably stolen from the taxpayers of the Buckeye State.

Who says the culture of corruption doesn't have consequences??? Not I.

Note to Republicans everywhere, all five of you: If you ever hope to ever win elections again, you'll first have to stop supporting corruption as a virtue.
