Clowns Rule!
Chattanooga Police Pass Over Former Mayor Corker and Endorse Harold Ford!
Oh, this is rich!
From TN Guerilla Women, a liberal TN political blog ...
...
Corker's Hometown Police Endorse Ford

In Corker's home town of Chattanooga - where the wannabe Frist replacement was once
Mayor Corker - the local police have snubbed their former mayor by
endorsing Harold Ford (D).
The
latest DSCC poll has Ford beating Corker by 7 points! That's 51% - 44%.
Probably the Chattanooga police don't like Bush rubber stamps anymore than the rest of us. Bush has a 35% approval rate in Tennessee.
See Corker caught flip-flopping on Iraq
here.
And a new SurveyUSA poll finds Ford and Corker to be "
essentially tied."
Meanwhile the Republican National Committee is investing heavily in the Corker campaign.
Tennessee is one of three states targetted by the Dark Side as crucial if the GOP is to maintain its oppressive control of the U.S. Senate.
Cue the Fat Lady!!!

Re: Chattanooga Police Pass Over Former Mayor Corker and Endorse Harold Ford!
My first reaction to the police endorsing anyone is to vote for someone else. The experience of myself and friends with police has been that they are arbitrary, vindictive, self-serving, intrusive, and lack respect for the citizens they claim to be serving and protecting.
"Thirty-one* states allow all qualified citizens to carry concealed weapons. In those states, homosexuals should embark on organized efforts to become comfortable with guns, learn to use them safely and carry them. They should set up Pink Pistols task forces, sponsor shooting courses and help homosexuals get licensed to carry. And they should do it in a way that gets as much publicity as possible. "

Police endorsements are important because they represent the first line of defense for many citizens. They also tend to be very conservative. And for it to be in the Corker's own political base is just incredible.

Conservative? They tend to go with politicians who support collective bargaining no matter what.

Oh, the fortunes of politics are not the kind of thing that make me unhappy. Besides, how could I be less than delighted when I see the kind of witty, insightful, and supposedly political commentary that has appeared today?

I am sure that this is a stupid question, but; What is wrong with collective bargaining? Can you suggest an alternative?

Interesting question to ask a Son of the South.
What other way could one secure the services of a person without properly paying them, with no rights, or even treating them especially well??????
I Do Wonder...

Why, iman, heaven forbid, don't ask him that! It would force him to confront the lifelong propaganda that was drilled into his head that started as far back as the womb...

God bless them for that!
Those who fail to see the significance of a Southern police union endorsing a black Democratic candidate for Senate will fail to miss any point other than their own.

In what way do you mean "first line of defense"?
