Legally Young 4 Older Men

Hello everyone,

I'd like to know what everone thinks about younger and older men together. By younger I mean 21 to 35 and by older I mean 36 plus. By together I mean dating, hooks up for booty calls and just hanging together as friends and confidants.

Both younger and older and learn from each other while having fun. The young keep the older renewed and fresh both mentally and physically and the older assit the you with uncharted territory. Of course your peer group is fine as well, testing the waters to see what both sides generally think.

There is no universal truth here. To some, only peer group works. The others are attracted by much younger or much older dudes. Quite a few would swing both ways, if the situation presents itself.

Commercial media markets what most guys want: hott, young dudes.

Real life is somewhat different. Most guys would still probably go for a hot, young dude, if they had a free choice. Few people really have that and thus, we all negotiate our way around to finding the guy, who fits our taste best and is available.

Would depend on the younger man and any mutual interests. I find I like my peer group but have been told on more than a few instances by younger guys that they consider me a hot item for them. That is fine and flattering but again, it would depend on other factors and one big one is maturity level. Another is mutual respect. I know a number of younger guys and we have the mutual respect, so it can work. What I have found in my own personal world that is surprising to me is the number of younger guys who have a preference for older guys. Just a personal perspective.

I started dating men when I was 20, and have always went for men in their late 20's to late 40's. Like Danno said "age ain't nothing but a number".

I'm 29 now, and I'd personally rather be with somebody in his 30's or 40's who's "grown up" and out of the whole club and gayborhood scene; although I'm not against going once in a blue moon with friends. For me, younger guys and I just don't mix well, because we just don't have enough in common. However, I have met plenty of guys in the age bracket I like who still think they're immature 21 year olds, and have to be at the club every night LOL (or they're really picky, thinking they're some spring chicken or something LMAO).

Im 47 and my last two boyfriends were both 24, basically half my age. Both relationships lasted more than a year.

While the age gap obvisouly can cause some difficulties, I think it is fine as long as both parties feel happy and understand that each other's needs may vary from time to time.

I also tend only to be attracted sexually to those under 30 (I have a penchant for twinks), so when I am not in a relationship (like now) I hook up with younger guys for fun... and fortunately here in Montreal there are many younger guys willing to date us antiques! hehe

I have enjoyed younger men and older, age is not a big deal to me. I just enjoy someone that is secure with themselves, and happy with who they are. My current partner is 32 I'm 39 so not a big difference and its work great.

I've tended to be attacted to men in their late twenties/ early thirties from the beginning, so I've made this smooth progression from dating older guys, to dating my contemporaries, to dating somewhat younger men. I am 37 and my bf is 33!

As it stands, people can see who voted for what.

We are a fairly tight-knit community here and many Jubbers are friends on and off the forums. I'm sure there might be a few people who would be inhibited by having it known, publically, that they "don't like older men " or "don't like younger men" for fear of offending their buddies!

I think its great when a young guy seek the love and affection of an older guy, age should not matter, the heart knows not what age you are, it only wants to love. Most young guys wonder why they are always alone and lonely, its because they seek guys who mirror themselves and often find they are in a competition and not a love relationship. My bf is 20 years old, we've been together since he was 18, I've known him longer than that but its alwaya been the legal thing with age, he decided he wanted to wait and he's the most kind loving young man I know. Age to him, like Danno stated earlier is only a number.

I asked another young friend who loves dating older men why he feels that way, he tells me, its because he feels safer and he knows when he's in a relationship the guy loves him. I think the guys who always want to stay within their age bracket is missing a lot, and they can learn what love is all about and how real love is, but we all have the right to love who we want no matter how much it pains us in the end.

I like older men, but my reason for liking them and being with them isn't to learn from them because they're simply older and have experienced more. I just have attractions to them. And I'm not with my boyfriend specifically because he is older and that I could learn from him. I'm his boyfriend because I love him and seeing something in him that I see in no one else and sharing things with him that I would never share with any one else.

I think that having the idea that younger men might like older men for the experience and to learn is kind of pretentious, maybe it's just because some one loves that person? I could easily learn from some one who is my age, just because they haven't been around as long, doesn't mean I can't learn from them.

Not in a relationship to learn, I'm in it to love and to be loved.

Yes...if I would have to say the reason why younger guys like the older men...it is due to the lack of experience they have and what they can gain from dating an older man.

Actually, a small age difference in homosexual relationships is quite a modern idea. Age difference relationships between men and young men has been going on for centuries.

My partner is 22 years my junior ... we have been together now for 4 years ... it has been the most blissful, fulfilling relationship for both of us. Before I met my partner I would never have thought that I would be with someone with such a huge age difference. It has not presented any problems, though we thought it would. Not only is he younger, he is from an entirely different cultural background (Japanese whilst I am Australian). It just demonstrates that if you have an open mind it does not restrict the possibilities. If I had put parameters on a relationship such as an arbitary age I would have missed being with the most wonderful man that one could imagine. After 4 years the bond is as strong as ever and has made a pretty wonderful life overall pretty well complete.

I am 26 and my partner of 4 (almost 5 years now) is 56. I have always found older guys attractive and because I am not a gym rat had trouble with men my own age. Most of them when I was in school were shallow and told me to call them after I got hot. I quickly discovred the bear community and have sinced just been myself. While I am not out to my parents yet I have been wit hthe sweetest scorpio on the planet who loves me for me.

Age difference shouldn't matter but it has caused problems when we have been at events together. People are often suprised at our age differences and think its because he's a sugar daddy. Which since he is a professional musican would nevver happen. I think the gay community needs to relax its standards and jsut say "Live and let live"
