    Pleats or no pleats?

What's in pants fashion these days?
    Pleats? Or flat front?
    Cuffed or not?
    What do you wear?
    What do you prefer?

These days, jeans.Unpleated, uncuffed jeans. Remember pleated, cuffed baggies? That's why. Life's too short to iron pleats and cuffs. I wasted much of the 80s doing that and fixing my hair.

Thankfully we're allowed to wear jeans to the office. I couldn't even begin to tell you what is considered "in" when it comes to men's pants.

I think you'll be fine either way so long as they make your ass look good.

The trend is still flat front, no cuff.

    Re: Pleats or no pleats?

While I agree that the current trend in design is a flat-front without cuffs, I personally wear my dress-pants with pleats and cuffs. They just hang better that way. I'll wear flat-front chinos, but slacks need pleats. Unless, of course, you have washboard abs. I do not: I have washtub abs.

And I don't care who says what, I simply and flatly refuse to wear my pants any shorter than my heels... pants should break across the instep, and that's all there is to it. If your socks show when you're standing, you are a moron.

Okay, perhaps moron is too strong a word. Fashion victim, then. Every time I see this in the magazines, my blood-pressure goes up.

    no pleats, no cuff..
    usually wearing jeans or khakis..
There are people who love command and in their eagerness to assume it they are impatient at the formalities of taking
over from someone else. I love command since it is the ideal welding of freedom and slavery. You can be happy
with your freedom and when it becomes too dangerous you take refuge in your duty.

Oh, good Lord, no pleats. Pleats can make any man look dowdy.

I HATE pleats. If the dress pants have a slight cuff (approx. 1/2 inch) when you buy them, okay. Otherwise NO cuff. What I wear is what I prefer, and vice versa.

I always have my dress pants made with 2 or 3 pleats. I have a 30" waist and I think the dress pants fall/hang much better with pleats. Some have cuffs, some don't. For jeans....definitely no pleats and definitely no cuffs.

    Dress Slacks: Pleats and cuffs.

Casual slacks (usually khaki's): Pleats and no cuffs

Jeans: Tailored with no pleats and no cuffs

...and I make sure that they aren't too tight.
