To each his/her own tastes. I own everything Barbra's ever recorded (in several formats) and have been to every concert since 1966. (That's surely the gayest thing I've done, since it's cost thousands of dollars.) Certainly I think some stuff is better than other stuff, and a few numbers I don't care for at all, but I'd rather hear her sing than anyone else, given that I enjoy many, many singers (even Madonna once in a blue moon.) For a lot of gay men of a certain age and background she is the "the" gay icon. Of course I realize others can take her or leave her and others can't stand her. It's all good. I'd never listen to a lot of people that have many fans in the JUB community, but I'd never criticize their taste in music.

I paid about $5.00 for my copy. Actually, I think I paid more for my vinyl copy than I did for the CD. It's on my iTunes along with Patrick Cowley, Paul Parker, the Boystown Gang, Sylvester and many other fun things.
