It's blue right?
Mmm having sex with Xenomorphs is fun!

LOL so my Emma is a mommy now (Pheonix:War song #3)
I prefer the Tommy/Anole/Nico stuff or Anole/Jean-Paul.
I enjoy Jullian being a cool straight dork.
OMG. I just bought YA: Family Matters and it was like having sex for however long I wanted to spend on each page. God, yes!
X-Men was alright. It's hard to believe that it'll be concluded in one issue, but...
And Phoenix Warsong...eh...I think this story is sucking hard. Why is this happening? Endsong was so well written sort of...
Ack! I was going to go and clear out my box again. But then I had my stupid writing homework.
...what? You have writing homework?
You know what for.
hey...... can't wait til Young Avengers start up again next year..... do you know if there is any chance they might change it back to monthly if the writer free up some time??
One can only severely, severely, hope so and I imagine that YA is popular enough (which is an understatement) that once all this Civil War who-ha is terminated YA (in whatever condition it will be in afterwards) will be back for their missions and awesomeness.
Effortless, you're totally welcome
Anyone else read the newest Warsong yet? I feel kind of cheapened by it. Actually, I'm finding how much I'm disliking it.
I strongly suspect that a lot of people here will like the following pics.
(The artist has asked that they not be hotlinked, so the links go to posts on a comic fanart community on LJ)
ya.... i really can't wait til we have the regular artist back.... don't like the person drawing the crossover.... look like the YA are slightly on steroid and just plain doesn't look like the YA at all...
My drawings suck...
Those pictures inspire me to draw Wiccan & Hulkling....
But - I have neither experience in drawing them, nor knowledge of what they look like, [I should seek out comics for reference], so...
What do you guys think of this? >.<
There's so many things wrong with it, but like I've told my friends:
It's *my* style - I didn't want her looking like 'body-built-woman', like a lot of old female marvel characters looked like in the past.
Instead, I made her lithe, and rather curvy.
Yeah - I favour the 'manga' style.
It's awesome, very professional looking.
I'm sure if you dig through the thread you'll find the pencil one I did....(nevermind my bad paint one's)
None the less very well done.
Okay, here's a pic of Meggan I just finished. There's really high contrast ::shrug::
But I'm generally pleased with it.
Warsong is quite odd.
Winter: Those are some amazing colors.
Lu: Website banned...
Mourning: Nice, clean style.
I now remember owing some of you a couple of sketches. Again. I'll have them up by monday Right now I'm too busy pretending to draw the guys of FFXII for "art's sake".
Sadly, I didn't draw them. I have all the artistic ability of, to quote Capt. E. Blackadder, "a clutch of colour-blind hedgehogs, in a bag".
They were just some pics posted on an LJ community that I thought you'd all like to see.
Since I made that post, the artist has done another one:
Here we go. It's huge. I'm sorry. :P
Here's another, and I like it some ways, but I really want to redo it.
The coloring job is crap.
I just got done reading the new issue of the Phoenix mini and OMG!!!! it sucked so fucking bad!!!! First the art was the worst art i have seen in a really long time in a comic book.I mean it was really bad. I wish I would have thumbed through it first cause i wouldn't have bought it. second they are clones and emma's their doner?!! The phoenix force is split between them?! This takes away from Jean who was a fantastic character who the phoenix choose. I'm no fan of Emma but c'mon! I actually stopped buying all x-men books when emma was mind fucking scott and it took Jean and scott's great love and turned it into shit. I had bought the books non-stop from 1994.Not even onslaught stopped me from buying the books! I guess I'm pissy cause i was hopeing the x-men would be better after all this time. I have been reading astonishing cause of wedon but even that's not really going anywhere. There is way to much Emma in these books. She isn't that interesting to hold my attention. She reminds me of sharon Stone from Basic Instinct. Been there done that.Bitchy and horny.Good and bad.yawn. She's always in bed with Scott whenever I see her.You have to admit X-men readers that they have way to many bed scenes with them. Once again I will be crossing X-men off my list. I guess I'll try again in another 5 years.
Aren't we moody...
I'll agree that Phoenix Warsong sucks balls.
But I feel that writers are doing a lot with Emma, even more than they could have ever done with Scott and Jean.
One of my favorite statements was this one:
"Splitting up Scott and Jean reinvigorated both characters, even if Jean's too dead to take advantage of it."
Think about it. Jean could only be written in four similar ways: Super good and peachy keen, Struggling with the horror of losing control to the Phoenix, losing control of the Phoenix, controlling the Phoenix and being unstoppable.
I love Jean to death, but she became too powerful and she was basically doomed to become a useless character. No one could possibly beat her if she controlled the Phoenix, which she did before her death in New X-Men.
Scott and Jean had problems, and it made sense since the power balance between them was so vast. Everyone felt that Scott was second best to Jean and it was emasculating for him. He shoots beams out of his eyes, but Jean would always know better or end up running the show or have audience sympathy. Even New X-Men portrayed the end of their relationship as being mostly Scott's fault and not really that Jean was being neglectful of how vulnerable Scott felt.
Emma is dynamic. She has villain history giving her friction to other characters, she has her history as being maternal to all of her students so you know her interests as far as they're concerned are always genuine no matter what else she may be doing, she's not all powerful and WILL listen to what Scott has to say, she doesn't agree completely with the Xavier manifesto, and she isn't afraid to act on that. Would Jean ever have been as vengeful towards Tony Stark or Ms. Marvel like Emma was in New X-Men?
I doubt it.
Jean is a great character and she's a true hero, but that's what makes her useless in the end, because she can do no wrong.
Even in New X-Men when Bishop came ot question her possible hand in Emma's 'death', he didn't get to do anything. She basically just said 'Look at the Phoenix' and he knew she didn't do it. Where's the interest there? Of course Jean was a top suspect, but that never gets explored because Jean's never bad anymore.
This Cuckoos-being-her-daughter/clones is crap.
But I love Emma being in these comics. She's a perfect foil to Scott and probably knows that Scott will always love Jean in a way.
As for Astonishing going nowhere, if you read Joss Whedon's commentary, he notes that what's happenign here is that we're going to find out why Emma is acting this way and that in all these attacks she's basically going to purposefully or unintentionally deconstructing them to rebuild them. They all have these hang ups; Beast, Wolverine, especially Scott, and Kitty, and by doing all this shit to them they're going to come out a stronger team.
And finally, have you seen who the Phoenix Force has been with lately? Quentin Quire is a confirmed one, Rachel seems to have it and not have it, you have some sword that carries a shard of the Phoenix Force.
Everyone knows that Jean will always be the strongest wielder of Phoenix and is her prized persona to inhabit, but the Phoenix has been in enough other people that it inhabiting the Cuckoos (which I disagree with, too) is no more of a detraction from Jean than anyone else.
I honestly don't think it *that* good... Even though I am proud of it.
It doesn't look like something I could do... I do that to myself...
This is actually the original.
I used OpenCanvas1.0 & a layer, to 'trace' the outline. I made her thicker and changed a few things here and there, though.
Awww, you guys....
You've given me so many spoilers from Warsong...
By the time I pick it up - I'll know half the story/plot...
[I tried to not read into posts, but I pick up on one word, and next thing I know - I can't stop myself from finishing the sentence.... And the next one... T.T]
Here's something I whipped up on Saturday.
I was kinda bored/but also teeming with energy.
So, I picked up the theme from two other works I'd seen, and voilá...
It's a rough...
I dunno when I'll get around to finishing it - if I ever do. ^^;;;
[Note: I've never, ever, drawn Venom before, so...
I'm really proud... And amazed at wtf it came from...]

sorry, I'm on slim fast. It's makin me crabby! I want food!
Hey North American Comic/X-Men Fans.....
Hey all you who bought the Best Buy/Future Shop Exclusive X-Men III: The Last Stand With the tin case....did it come with two discs or one? I just bought it minutes ago, it has a spot for another disc but there is only one, they told me it was onyl one. I was originally under the impression it had two....Yes it's brand new it has the comic and everything else.
I just need to know is there suppose to be two? They said they'd call me when they get more in open it up and tell me if there's two....But I rather ask people who bought it.
You know what? When I checked it out from Netflix, I was surprised to see that there was only one disc under the title. Whenever there is a special edition, they seperate the discs and make you check them both out. With this one, there was only the once disc. Hmm...
I just did a search on Best Buy, they only referenced two versions of X-Men: The Last Stand. They were both the same movie, only one was widescreen the other was pan-scan. I didn't see a mention of a Best Buy Edition. Further, both only indicated one disc.
Okay, now here's my bid for "Forum's Best Artist".
This one's Vaan from FFXII up against a Marlboro...
This is the Hellfire Club. Now, I originally used, like, 5 million different pencils for this, but my scanner couldn't cope with all the shades of grey, so I had to just use Image Magic to add a different effect to it than I planned...
I abhor how Negasonic's lipstick doesn't show up.
Anyway, there you go! And before you say anything, yes, I know Emma's lips are all wrong, and Vaan's neck is way too small. Cheerio!
Fuck GL! ::
I bet photobucket hates God.
Or loves Him, depends on your evangelist.
Got no clue how. Oh well, it's for shit anyway.
