Alex Ross has never drawn a teenager. All of the people are either middle-aged, children, or excruciatingly old.

But goddamned if his Joker/Harley piece isn't a classic.

I am under the impression the Silver Surfer fights the Marvel Zombies, as well as magento? in different issues of course.

Also I've heard a lot about "extinction" which Marvel universe are they getting rid of again? I'm looking forward to that as well.
SPOILER FOR THOSE WHO DIDN"T READ MARVEL ZOMBIES!
marvel zombies was crazy! a virus infected an alternative earth and turned 99% of heroes to zombies. sentry was infected and infected the avengers. magneto didn't get bit so he was human. they fought him and ate him. black panther was also not bit and antman kept him locked up and sedated and would cut off an arm or leg to eat and sow him back up so he wouldn't bleed to death. captian america got half his head chopped in battle and his brains were exposed the whole time. at the end the red skull pulled his brains out and as he was being chopped up he said,"that was so worth it" than silver surfer showed up saying galactus was coming. hulk bit off his head and each zombie ate him and got some of the power cosmic. than galactus came and they ate him for years! wasp got her head cut off and she was body less trying to eat people. those were some of the high lights. the story is still going on in ultimate ff. the zombie ff was taken to the ultimate reality and locked up in the baxter building. i love funny gore in comics. not sure why but the zombies made me giggle.

    More Questions.

Is X-Men: The End,is it still ongoing? Why are they "ending" it.

Also I read Apocalypse is back, how's that going? Lots of casualties I imagine???

For XMen: The End- if memory serves me correctly, this is a three part mini-series. The first two collections (5-6 issues each) have concluded. I gave up on it halfway thru the first series. It was just too weird for me (and that's saying a lot).

Apocolypse: yes, he returned recently to wreck havok on the mutants. He found new horsemen and there was a lot of information provided about how mere mutants undergo the transformation into horsemen.

    SPOILER SPACE

The new horsemen were culled from the XMEN themselves and their allies. Gambit , Sunfire, and Polaris were all converted, as was the little guy from this orbiting satellite. Polaris and Sunfire fought back after the changes and were able to escape. Gambit remains and the little guy bought it (if memory serves me correctly -don't have the issues in front of me). The Cable/Deadpool series also provided some insight into the big A's history. In all honesty, there wasn't that much bloodshed...

Not this time. He pretty much got his ass handed to him on a platter then left to lick his wounds. It helped that Val Cooper and her sentinels, as well as the avengers and FF stepped in -after all Apocalypse was threatening the UN...

I have a feeling there will be several subplots involving him in the coming months. Things were settled too quickly.

Especially considering his resserction was allowed, and that what they left him alive?

If there were ever mutants that were better off being killed for the great good, Apocalypse is one of them.

It's liek what Magneto says at the end of Legends II, I do sometimes disagree with Xavier. Just because he's defeated doesn't mean he's been destroyed.

So anyone know where I can find a comic book store in Montreal? LOL.

OFF-Topic side note; I decided to add some more pictures, because I like to and I think they should be in here, being the comics thread and all. (also random side note, how come Wolverine's Healing factor didn't counter-act the Infection?

    Oh and for my "cous de gras" I decided to make a little funny with the Marvel Zombie page when they find magneto;

The virus was just too powerful. That's the only explanation. Besides, it got Sentry, who is basically the most powerful guy in MU (He kicked Galactus' ass once), so Logan biting it isn'y exactly a stretch.

HoM basically nullified "X:Men the End", but Marvel did say that their "The End Series" were all in alternate dimensions, so whatever. ("Punisher: The End" is still the best of the lot)

Out of everything, "Ultimates" is still probably the best book around.

Side Note: Who here has read "Batman & The Monster Men"? I want to know if it's worth the cash, because if it's good then I'm probably assing "Batman & The Red Monk" to my pull list, since they both have the same author.

I did. 2 stars. It was alright. I'll pick up the first issue of Red Monk and see how it goes.

Well Wolverine's fought Galactus before! I'm not sure who won, but I'd be willing to bet that Wolvie won, because I mean...it's Wolverine.

Also Bordem got the best of me and I made an Iron man comic using panels without text....It's not as witty or as funny as it was when I first concieved the idea, but that can be contributed to the late time I did it at.

It's funny how marvel just decides that.
    It's in another Dimension! woooooooooooh.
how many dimensions do they have? have they ever met with other dimensions? Like UFF, did foolishly bring the ZFF to the ultimate universe, will it have the same effect on their universe? have they doomed us all!? Why the hell would they do that?

(Edit: it seems photobucket resized the image, and now some of the text is illegible, if you actually want to read the full size, just PM me, and I'll e-mail it to you....)

So I did two more X-men pictures....
Even though no one's looking at them I'm still going to posted.

I know, I know, they're no good....and you're all jaded by the really good artists of the comic book world....no time for the little guy....
    *sniffle* *sniffle*

I think Rogue, is another of my better one's.

So far I believe my best are; Nightcrawler, Magneto (Ultimate mix with movie Vers.) and Rogue....are the best of all of them. I'm told Apocalypse isn't too bad.

Actually, effortless, they're not bad. When I first started using MSPaint, my stuff was awful. But with enough practice, I became good enough to freehand in paint what I do normally in analog. It's just about practice. So keep doing them!

Does anyoen have any ideas about what they have in store for Jubes? She's such a prominent character within comic circles and with the outside populace that I can't imagine that they'd write her out forever...

    Thanks Luminum!

Yeah it is a damn shame about our old friend Jubes, hopefully they don't go the route they did with Rogue in the movie.

I really don't understand why people are so into Jubilee. She's like a failed attempt at Kitty Pryde 2.

Anyway, Civil War # 2 just got out, and whoohoo, I'm so proud for Peter (though as judged from the cover of CW # 5, that smile of his won't last). I seriously hope they capture Cap soon. That criminal.

GL: I used to really like Jim Lee, but the guy almost never evolved. His art is still literally the same as it was from when he kicked ass in the 90's...now Lee Bermijo (sp?) from Lex Luthor: Man of Steel - - demn is he fucking good. And Super Man IS an alien menace.

Honestly? Unless the artist is very new to the business there will be very little evolution to any established professional in this field. The established artist makes a name for his or herself for the look of their overall work. To change it too much would be a professional risk. Whereas the fresh faces have nothing to lose but work on their craft and find that "look" that will get their work noticed and more commissions.

Actually, there are some artists who have clear change in their works. Salvador Larroca who did Ghost Rider in the 90's, and Joe Mad before his Marvel gig come to mind - - of course their changes were for the better since the former's previous work looked like a nine year old's, while the latter's looked like a bad Manga impersonation.

It's just my personal opinion that a person can get tired of seeing the same art style for over a decade.

Lobo's the only thing I ever read regularly. RESUME: LOBO: Kicked out of heaven for starting a riot, kicked out of hell for almost taking over, reincarnated as an immortal so they wouldn't have to deal with him again, almost killed Superman while drunk off his ass, and killed off the rest of his entire planet/species in a high school chemistry project just so he could be unique, basic all around violent badass bounty hunter.

Now, that that's gone, I don't really keep up much. Any other Lobo fans or just me?

I think why most of us liek Jubilee, is because well for me anyways, the age group I fall into Jubilee was the new Kitty Pryde...and that's who I would see, moreso than Kitty. The only time I really realised Kitty exisisted was when I played that awesome X-Men Arcade game...with the two screens, and you could be; Colossus, Storm, Dazzzler, Nightcrawler, Wolverine, and Cyclops I believe...and you fought your way through a whole bunch of levels, and Kitty Pryde says something, and then you goto Asteroid M, and god I wish I owned that Arcade machine.

Anyways back to the topic....I liek both Jubilee and Kitty Pryde, but I think Jubilee, being made to be like a kid from my generation, doing things I liked to do is what made her relevant to me. Kitty Pryde has a fucking bloody dragon as a pet....WHERE THE HELL AM I SUPPOSE TO GET ONE OF THOSE!

Larroca and Madureira were both new to the scene in the early 90's and as I mentioned earlier, had room to develop their style. And now that both are firmly established, you will not see too much deviation in what the produce. In fact, with both Larroca and Madureira their work has become more focused, but you can still see the commonality between their work then and now.

Obviously we are all entitled to our personal opinions and if you're not wild about Jim Lee's work that's fine. But to attempt to quantify your opinion by claiming he does not innovate is just off. Once these artists have established their professional credentials and begin to see their work out there, innovation in the form of development, ceases.

So I just finished reading Hush, Volume's 1 & 2, both of which I picked up today at Chapters.
I have to say I enjoyed it.....wish there was a little bit more to it for the price I paid....but it made me laugh a few times, which is always good when a book makes me laugh out loud.

I believe Jim Lee was the artist?
I have to say I enjoyed the art, and the colors, it was a very vibrant comic...however....It really seemed that Bruce and Superman (not clark, but Clark as superman) Looked sorta the same....All and all those it was a rather enjoyable story.

    Kudos to the writers.

i have been catching up on hawkman recently cause i got the full 80's run and most of the new books run on ebay for super cheap. they sure made hawkman hot! they even gave him hairy shoulders! would a straight artist give a character that much body hair? anyway, i really like the new twist on hawkgirl. the golden eagle story was really good that ran recently. the new book with just hawkgirl is really drawn badly. the rann-thanagar war was not so good either. i also bought a huge lot of old teen titans from the 80's and those aren't to bad. wondergirl is one confusing character! but beastboy was pretty hot with all that green chest hair.
i really like books that have a heart to them. i loved the old x-men books for that reason. they use to chat while shopping or playing sports. not all the books were action. the avengers had that also. the story between wanda/vision/wonderman was a nice change. firestar's powers were killing her and ms.marvel was hittin the booze. i wish more books had those personal stuff in them. the new justice league was so galactic that it was all fighting and no personal time with each other. anyone reading anything now that has that kinda feel?the ultimate books have it a little but the new avengers is missing it completely.

Uh-Uh. Wonder Woman's been in the shadow of World's Finest for nearly 70 years. She's had nothing but sucky writers (Rucka being the exception) for her comics.

It's her time to shine. Seriously. Having a GOOD writer who actually WANTS to write Wonder Woman has never happened before. Except Rucka.

Young Avengers can wait for all I care. Like the Ultimates. Which comes out every goddamn century.....

So I bought an old TBP of Frank Miller's Batman a while ago (maybe a year or two) and I recently grabbed it to read. But here's the thing...

Does Frank Miller always use that "old man don't have a heart attack or you'll be useless" stuff in his comics? Batman and Sincity...Bruce Wayne and Hardigan?

in comics in the last year what does everyone think was the most shocking moment? even with crisis or civil war i still don't see the writers taking any really big chances. so what superboy died or fucked wondergirl, big deal spider-man told the world he is peter parker, who cares emma is still mind fucking people, etc. everything seems done before or just plain blah. i do think art work is better than ever.

That does seem to pop up a bit. Perhaps its a fear of his manifest in his work? Who knows?

What got me then and still makes me weepy, Alfred's death scene.

Really? I think that's cute. But wouldn't that be more of a "Storm" sort of power?

New Avengers: Probably the biggest WTF from my pull list - - but not in a good way. Seriously, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't good. It was inexplicable.

All-Star Superman: Morrison is high again. Good read through and through.

Eternals: Cool start, maybe Gaiman can redeem himself from that 1602 debacle.

The Ultimates: Fucking ace. Nothing happened much, but great art and some cool action totally compensated.

Astonishing: Double fucking ace. The Hellfire club is awesome. Negasonic is beyond powerful, Emma is more mysterious than ever, Cassandra Nova is now my favorite villain of all time, and what happened to Logan will go down in comic book history. Damn fine.

Astonishing X-Men was great. Logan scampering about was worth the price of admission. Civil War #2 was good, if not more of a "filler" piece. But the big reveal at the end of the book was interesting. Green Lantern Corps #1 was great. I like that the same characters introduced in Recharge are going forward.

Why are you getting your books from Canada? Ann Arbor has to have at least ONE good comic book shop.
