Call me passive. I don't care. I'm a happy, centered person, and stuff like this just doesn't bother me. Why let other people's sad ignorance ruin your day?

Man, I wish I was happy to just let people push me around like the wind with a plastic bag... that whole "I'm so live and let live that I even let those live who are AGAINST living and letting live" (read that three times it really does make sense)

Alas, I was raised by a mother who forced me to stand up for myself and for others I thought needed some standing up for.

I love when other's theoritical arguements fall apart before their eyes and they run off the forum crying.

That said,

I get what ya'll are saying about "overreaction" etc....

but maybe you've been fortunate enough in your life to have never been the experincor of abuse or violence based on how you sound or how you act?

Maybe you've always been able to "blend", so have never have to deal with the reality of haterd in your life.

So if we, who have dealt with it every day for most of our lives,

"overreact", please consider that it comes from a place of understanding how damaging your inadvertanet prejuice is.

Also, I've been hit by many males in my life because of varouis things about my person that they didn't like,

and the thought of a person expressing the desire to repeat the action again simply becaue of my lisp

is sickening.

and you're right, we don't know each other...

and things are hard to translate,

but there's no funny way to talk about phsyicaly harming another person because of a phsyical charteristic.

and also,

it's because we don't know each other that he was allowed to express that view. If we were in a room together, he'd be sulking in a corner watching baseball while the rest of us are having a ball twirling around the room in beauitful fuzzy dresses.....

or doing whatever we want to,

but the point is:

I said a grown man - straight or gay, and that was just me being sarcastic to express my frustration. You're trying awfully hard to turn this into a straight vs gay conversation.

Im not self hating - confused maybe, but Im overly cocky and definitely dont hate myself. I just like to date chicks and have fun w/ dudes on the side. Just because Im not exactly like YOU doesnt make me a "self hating homo".

Regardless of whether theyre straight, gay, tranny, black, white, male, female, klingon, wookie - whatever....lisps come across as fake and annoying to me. (I think I said that at least 10 times already). Im going to go have a mountain dew and play some xbox, talking to you is like talking to a brick wall.

Anyways let's make this clear.

Now apprently we're nit-picking at things here....The only people to say that "When people pretend they have a lisp" is in fact other people it's never been surfboy.

I believe he has a common enough grasp of the english language to actually say what peopel are sayign for him, but alas he'll quote them and again say "All lisps are fake and annoying"....

See the point is with regards to this JUB member's posts is that well the debate skills really aren't there. HE thinks soldiers in Iraq have "lost their marbles" for being over there. I wonder if he knows that Soldiers have no choice, otherwise they can be court martialed for treason, or being AWOL and there are some STIFF penelties for that.

I digress however, he seems to think that "ALL Lisps" are "FAKE" he's managed to dig himself further in the hole more and more with each pasting post....He did contradict himself by saying "This isn't about bravery" to a following post saying "Yeah that's pretty brave" but he didn't agree with it or some such thing.

So let him ramble on more, and more....Keep going until he slips up again. Which he will...It's only going to get worse from here on out.

What's wrong with wanting to punch someone that annoys you? He didn't say he DOES punch guys he says he 'wants' too - i.e. he feels like it - and no one on here has ever wanted to punch someone that doesn't piss them off for one thing or another? It's a natural human reaction, particularly when confronted with people being false!

Well his comment can in some way be vaguely interpreted as an attack on gays and so many guys are just waiting for those to appear so they can jump on them.

I still don't like to see a closet case (by his own admission) attacking gay people for either looking or living gay, and I'll stick up for guys wehter I'm personally being attacked or not.

I think lisps are fake and annoying regardless of who does it, and that's all there is to it. Like I mentioned earlier, I compare it to a white kid dressing all thuggish pretending hes black. It's just ridiculous.

I have been reading threas on this board for a while now and I have noticed that a lot of your responses to posts, Soil, involve a lot of contempt even hostility for those who you like to say "cower" in the closet. I understand that you are an out and proud gay man, a guy who will do what he pleases, when he pleases without giving two shits to what the guy next to him thinks about it, the self-proclaimed asshole, but were you always like this? Did you ever have a moment of self-doubt and confusion about your sexuality and what comes with being gay? I feel as though certain statements that were made in the early posts of this thread are ignorant, but I can also relate and even remember the place from where they are coming. But instead of trying to win against them without using the letter "a" I think it would be better to empathize and try and relate to convert or not put it in such dramatic terms of this statement is an attack on me, my community, and all that I stand for.
