Actually, I want the black sides to disappear (AT MY OPTION). JUB used to offer the "classic" (wide) message display, which I liked **MUCH, MUCH BETTER** than this damn "tight" format.

Is there any chance that the full-width messages will ever come back...please?

It must be some aspect with my brain processing or something, but that view just felt so much more "comforting and mellow" than this "tight" format, let alone considerably less scrolling was needed.

I think that started in Argentina with "los desaparecidos" in the 1970's or 1980's, at least that was the first I heard of it. I'll accept the transitive form of it, because it has additional (and sinister) meanings from somebody who simply "disappears" which might mean they moved with no forwarding address, left the room unnoticed, etc.

My boyfriend uses it all the time, but I didn't learn it that way in my English classes (in the eighties and nineties).

I believe the corresponding French, German and Dutch verbs all are intransitive.
