Yesterday I once again had a narrow miss between my junk and the zipper and have considered going back to a button fly. The only drawback is in winter it's a little chillier as some air can get through. At -20c it can cause some shrinkage. :eek:

Zippers for sure. Button flies are too inconvenient. I don't want a major investment in time and effort when I want to take a quick piss. I have had button flies in the past and they were totally annoying and fiddly. Not for me, they aren't.

Either. I do have jeans with both. Buttons can fall off.. and sometimes cold air can come in. But buttons stay in place more than a zipper which can either get stuck or fall down. Both have their pluses and drawbacks. So I just have pants with both lol.
Zippers - buttons are too difficult to close after you have had a few and at a bar.
^I think that's a plus for buttoned pants though. :lol:
