DUI charge: Jan. 4 court date for Idaho Sen. Crapo
This is not one of those stories, "Looky guys another Gopper arrested for DUI" .
No, it is because he is a Mormon. Aren't Mormons legally required to respect the rot gut?
But it is funny because he is another Gopper arrested for DUI.

DUI charge: Jan. 4 court date for Idaho Sen. Crapo
ALEXANDRIA, Va. - A conservative U.S. senator from Idaho who has said he doesn't drink because of his Mormon faith has been charged with drunken driving.
Sen. Michael Crapo, a three-term Republican with a reputation as a social and fiscal conservative, registered a blood alcohol content of .11 percent after police pulled his car over in this suburb south of Washington, D.C., authorities said.

Re: DUI charge: Jan. 4 court date for Idaho Sen. Crapo
Do what I say, not what I do.
His name is appropriate. Wonder if he's also a "friend of Larry" (Craig)? That old demon rum!! you know, makes you do "unholy" things.

Re: DUI charge: Jan. 4 court date for Idaho Sen. Crapo
The hypocrisy IS what makes it funny...

Re: DUI charge: Jan. 4 court date for Idaho Sen. Crapo
I don't typically look down on DUIs but the fact that he's Mormon makes it funny.
-
Re: DUI charge: Jan. 4 court date for Idaho Sen. Crapo
I'm still laughing at the guy's name.

Tragic; unfortunate; sad; stupid... lots of words apply. The only thing that's funny is the way the left jumps on every disgraced member of that other party while continuing to give a pass to those on the left, whose transgressions are at least as many and equally public.
Hyprocisy personified.

You must mean John Edwards. Yeah, the left gave him a pass.

Each side gives their own the pass. Unfortunately you have one party trying to tell us how to morally live our lives and then performing all kinds of sick acts for which they always initially deny culpability and then blame some mystical dude named Satan.
The one on the left I would have went for being a repeat offender is Marion Barry. The DC crackhead. Edwards landed in the courts and will never be heard from again and I heard plenty of lefty folks excoriate him for what he did to his dying wife.

Yep .... Teddy Kennedy would have to be one of the worst.
-
Re: DUI charge: Jan. 4 court date for Idaho Sen. Crapo
Teddy was a different era though... sincerely.
Think of the many girls in JFKs past. Johnson was a sex fiend. Nixon had a love affair with a MAN  ...lol
Those were the guys who passed muster to be at the top... how fucking depraved was their caucus?
Lets face it all of these fucking creeps in public office are animals of the worst kind. Here the right is bitching specifically about lefties while bemoaning the fact that right wingers fail publicly and morally at the same if not a higher rate.

I'd forgotten about him.
How about Barney Frank? Call boy ring operating out of his townhouse?
Or Ted Kennedy, who left a girl to die?
Or Bill Clinton, disgraced president and disbarred lawyer?
To name three.
All of them should have been hounded from office, and none of them had enough shame to resign in disgrace.
To more or less quote that twat from the NY Times, Maureen Doud. "We knew Clinton was lying but he was so (can't remember the word she used) about it that we overlooked it." Or words to that effect.
Hypocrisy, thy name is Democrat.

Re: DUI charge: Jan. 4 court date for Idaho Sen. Crapo
Hmm so what you are really trying to say is republican claim to be god fearing and therefore forgiving folk and yet they are loyal to nothing and no one. Once a republican commits a sin they will be publicly castrated.
Hmmmmm.
I think I prefer to belong to the team that has my back.
The republican method is what happened to folks returning from Vietnam. Spit on and called murderers.
The democratic method is what happened to these folks returning from wars in two countries. Where medical services are paid for and expanded. Heroes welcomes are offered.
One is having someones back and the other is casting them aside at the first side of trouble.

What a massive load of bovine excreta. Who mentioned God? Certainly not I.
Republicans, for the most part, have some shreds of decency left or perhaps enough of a sense of shame that they have the good sense to resign.
As for spitting on vets. It wasn't the right doing that it was the far left. The bedwetting liberals and their allies who hate all wars.
-
Re: DUI charge: Jan. 4 court date for Idaho Sen. Crapo
Those were examples... I know it is a strecth for you to grasp deeper thoughts but try it out sometime.
I agree the left spit on Vietnam vets. However a country turned their back on people that they asked to do a job. A horrific job. THAT is a comparison to how republican treat their own. Like shit. Whereas democratic types appear to have one anothers back. I will choose to fight for a team whereas I would prefer to let the other group of cutthroat idiots go ahead and kill each other off.
Oh and who mentioned God? Every republican rally since I have been alive. That and the flag lapel pin are what they offer the country. Kinda empty like the heads of those that defend them.

Odd that you should parrot that phrase - 'god fearing'
I've never quite understood what the fundies mean by that.
Maybe they're just afraid to worship a kind, loving, and benevolent God in the
same way that Democrats yearn for and worship a loving and benevolent Government
who gives them handouts of money taken at gunpoint from other people.
Henry Ford said something along these lines: if you think the goverment will take care of you, ask any Indian how that worked out for his people.

A country that was led down that path by a left-leaning media.
I wouldn't know what the talk about at Republican rallies, never having been to one.

Re: DUI charge: Jan. 4 court date for Idaho Sen. Crapo
I believe in GOD as much as a I believe in the tooth fairy.
Only the ignorant need apply.
I think George Carlin said:
Quote:
"Christianity is the belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree."

Well apparently you cant read either because it is discussed in depth at every televised event, in their literature, in their blogs, vlogs and by national news personalities on Fox. If you are somehow misguided into believing fundies aren't rampant in your chosen party of fools then ... well then there is nothing anyone can say to help you regain a foot hold in reality. Cherrio....

Oh and you fail to address the original point. or perhaps you are unable to understand such a thought... I really dont know... but the reality is the republican party disowns its members when they fail. the democratic party does not. One is a team and the other a loosely associated group of vultures.

Which proves that the democrats as a party lack any sense of decency. That party should have disowned Frank, Kenendy, Clinton, and a host of others from day one. The only wa for a party to purge itself of a cancerous member is with radical surgery.

I am not now, nor have I ever been a Republican. Registered as Indepenent or Libertarion for a very long time.
Yes, I'll well aware that the repubs pander to their right wing so-called christian supporters, and shame on them
for doing so.

You are not a libertarian. Not even close. You can wave the independent moniker around but to not look at both mainstream parties with disdain is a sign you are not a libertarian.

You missed the point entirely.
The criticism in this thread is mainly about hypocrisy, not drunk driving.
Liberals are not ashamed to admit all people hold vices. It is a shame that some people believe they are above vice, and look down on liberals as godless sinners.

Once again proving that you have neither read nor understood what I've posted. I look at both mainstream parties with disdain. Both of them. No redeeming qualities in the dems at all, and very few left with the repubs

Yet you defend the Republicans at every turn. Today, Libertarians are just Republicans who are too embarrassed to admit it. Ron Paul and Rand Paul both consider themselves Libertarians, yet find themselves pretty comfortable caucusing with Republicans.
As Jockboy said, this is about hypocrisy.

When have I ever defended Republicans? Not very often. Do some research.
Ron Paul has always been a bit of a joke, and Rand Paul can't move away from the subject
of abortion long enough to get serious about anything.

Louisiana Senator David Vitter Apologizes Again for Connection to D.C. Madam Scandal said he's been to church and marriage counseling and has received forgiveness from God and his wife.

it was revealed that Craig had been arrested two months earlier for allegedly soliciting sex from an undercover police officer in a bathroom in the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. Craig pleaded guilty and later announced his resignation, but then decided to fight to keep his seat and appeal his conviction -- to no avail.
I do not see a resignation for Vitter and Altho Craig announced his resignation, he decided to fight but lost, thank his God!

This link is for the guy who constantly refers to liberals as bed wetting people who spit on vets. Interestingly enough...many of the politicians and pundits who say that very same thing are on this list...as having NOT served. I am a liberal and a veteran myself.
Check this list out...it reveals alot....

Recently deceased liberal Senator and veteran of WWII Daniel Inouye was one of the most illustrious warriors in US military history.
