"Andreus Thanos"
Thanos is a fictional character appearing in Marvel Comics.
Thanatos is the daemon personification of death in Greek mythology.
Tadziu in the beautiful boy which leads into obsession and death in Thomas Mann's Death in Venice. His mother called him Tadzio but his boyfriends called him Tadziu.
Considering that he posted 70 times in the first 5 pages of this thread, BostonPirate has been remarkably taciturn lately.
My opinion isn't based on the perecption of recollection. It is based on what and HOW certian things were said to me in PMs, on various topics by posters on this thread, in particular by one poster on this thread who claimed to be close to Andreus. He revealed Andreus' MI. I was very recently approached one here by the exact same MI. :nono:
^ mi ?
I can tell you I've been hit on, argued with, put upon for money, small-talked, fast-talked….and I don't think I've ever heard an original story in a long time.
This thread has so far revealed more to me about pettiness and paranoia from a number of directions than any "MI" about past JUBbers. I await something substantive.
I'm beginning to see why you had such a tough time on here in the beginning.
However, there does come a time where you start thinking "again with this persistent fuckery? Surely by NOW s/he ought to know better..." and that willingness to overlook - let alone forgive - dwindles rapidly. Actions ----> consequences ---(hopefully)---> lessons learned, yes?
If anyone has unearthed evidence that Andreus is not dead, or that Mitri was Enchanted, please send me a message.
Almost at the 7th page ..|
You go Andreus :luv:
Dare to dream, Waffles. Dare to dream. :)
Or an accusation, with all the gravitas as can be mustered by the tin foil hat brigade in this thread.
I would love to be as indignant as everyone here about being duped; I'm not big on letting bygones be bygones when people fake their deaths, and I wouldn't think just because it's the internet that it furnishes some kind of excuse for that.
I just don't see where that occurred. Most of this "Andreus is fake" diatribe is just nakedly wishful thinking, wrapped in a sense of entitlement on the part of those who feel that to accuse is to prove.
What little has been proffered in the way of proof seems astonishingly flimsy. At least in the open thread. If people have something more substantive in their private messages they should a) not be astonished that the rest of us aren't buying something we've never seen b) consider posting it as proof of Code of Conduct violations on the part of a former/current member. Last I checked, multiple simultaneous accounts are not allowed. Or c) at the very least forward any such information to a moderator; private messages are also subject to moderation and to the code of conduct.
Other than that, the only stuff I've read in the open thread has all the integrity required to convict a witch at Salem.
Until someone comes forward with some actual evidence, this strikes me as a very tasteless and cavalier offence against the memory of a real person, and against the integrity of those who knew him online or in the real world.
Besides his blog, what did Andreus do for a living?
Boy, I just went through all this thread and what a soap opera.
I lurked on LMAO, (that's before JUB, young'uns) and got on JUB with JR the owner, and many others, I think in 2003 or there abouts. Could have been 2002.
My first contact was with a Jubber names Michael Luc I think, and then Hooded Rat. Hoody at the time had several small furry friends and explained to me what was involved in raising them.
If memory serves me right, Michael left for a mail related job and I see Hoody is still here.
Yes I knew Dreu from reading his posts and exchanging PM's with him a few times. His death was a very real loss to me. After reading all the thread, I don't believe it was a sham.
If it was... well I got taken.... Some of the older Jub members will remember the guy who had servants, and cars etc..... then got caught in his lies. That one went on for a good while.
Oh yes, JUB has seen quite a few.
I will continue to read HT as often as I can and still enjoy all the dramas.
No I am not Andreu ;)
Actually, back then, I had several pieces of evidence and was just waiting for him to make another mistake. Even after his death, I stumbled over two more things that didn't add up. But I saw this as over. Until this started now again. And now, some of the stuff being said right now, doesn't add up either. But I only expose people when I'm a 100% sure and when I have proof. Something that you should have learned from a past debacle.
On this thread that "Andreus" himself started, he clearly states that he works in emergency situations in an emergency room.
LMAO! well, being that i've been on internet forums for 12 years and some change, this doesn't surprise me at all. you never know who in here is real and who is fake. never trust a soul on the web. even folks that are legitmate real in the flesh, post on here and etc could be lying to you about something. they could say they live in germany or russia when they are your next door neighbor living across the street. you could be chatting it up or face to face with someone that you know as a friend or personally but they could post in here and because they never posted a pic or said a word to you, you wouldn't have a clue that that's them. you might have someone stalking you and once again, you wouldn't have a single idea. :( be careful, folks. i myself am not innocent. i've kept it 100% honest with you guys on here but on other web forums, i've lied about where i lived because i didn't feel comfortable sharing my location. it turns out that that was the smartest move i've ever done on the internet because it actually saved me from a great deal of problems that could have came to my doorstep. you have to have eyes in the back of your head on this site.
with that said, has anybody here ever met the guy in question? i have to admit though. no offense to anybody that cares about the guy but from what you guys are saying about him, i don't buy the guy's story at all. there's something that just doesn't sound right about the guy dying from complications from hiv. heard about dying from complications from aids but not hiv though.
None the less, his messages seemed good, whether he was a georgous, intelligent, confused person, or just someone's persona. If you cherished his messages, hold on to them. Words can be so valuable, no matter who or where they came from.
"One of these articles notes that The Rock frequently uses illeism. If this is due to arrogance, I certainly can believe it. I have met him in person. I consider him drop-dead gorgeous (he's exceptionally tall) but one of the most arrogant men I have ever met. "
^ I suspect most of he men we lust after are the same
Was he also an photographer?I mean,as a hobby...
Don't ask why I'm asking ;)
The similarities between me and Andreus are just coincidence, and my interest in all this may seem weird, and it is weird actually, but be sure that it's nothing but an interest.
However, one will believe in what he wants to so I won't insist.
Not that I would care if the people on here are misunderstanding me or accusing me of being Andrew, but why giving them a reason to?So guess I should just forget about this topic. After all,not that I can't survive without this mystery being resolved.
The rising of the dead.;)
As tineye did not exist until 2008, it is unlikely that someone would have taken the trouble to doctor a stolen photo in anticipation of automated image search in the years before its release.
Keep trying though; this has settled into being very amusing.
My issue is with the story. Do you not find it odd that someone who was a bodyguard in Iraq, knew 6 languages, was an interpreter, was active in charities, was often seen out and about in bars around Boston, and therefore must have known heaps of people in the flesh, had 4 people as contacts, at least 2 of which were people on an online chat room which he had never met? And then that contact list never came into practice, as those people were never informed when Andreus disappeared, or indeed directly, when Mitri returned, as far as I recall. It seemed to me that Mitri had enough knowledge and skill (reading his posts) to get to a computer somewhere to post something to the contacts sometime within that year or so of disappearance, which he must have known about.
Perhaps my logic is flawed there, but that's just one thing anyway to add to a long list, and there's too many of these little things that don't quite gel for me now. That's why I am sceptical. Prior to that I was a huge believer, and if you look back at some of the threads during his illness, and so on, you will see that. Quite frankly I'm not surprised Corny didn't mention his concerns at the time, because he would have been lynched. But I need something to sway my thinking back into your camp. I'm sceptical, but not ruling out the possibility that the incredible story of Andreus is true.
I once left a city with reasons not to leave a forwarding address. I had a very unpleasant relative who, though I was not moving to get away from him, I certainly availed myself of the opportunity to pare that connection. In a different city, I neglected my former social circles entirely as I was preoccupied with a new relationship, a new job, and a very busy time in my life. I slipped back into that city a few times for one errand or another and never told any one of the dozens of people I knew there. After a while, I determined not to neglect my old acquaintances, and thanks to Facebook I had the option to reach out to them.
But I had to wait both to be ready, and since I moved before Facebook was available, I had to wait for technology to put it in my lap. And if I had died of starvation and untreated HIV before that happened, no one would have known except maybe a couple of family members and they would not have been inclined to contact people I knew, even if they knew how.
I think people have disruptions in their personal connections more frequently than we might imagine. Mine was partly chosen, partly circumstance, partly good luck, and partly regret.
Andreus had awkward family relationships and volatile social connections before the immediate events preceding his alleged death. Given that fact, I can't see how it would have played out any other way.
As for the remarkable events of his life, do you not ever creep on people you used to know? Ask where are they now? I do from time to time, and some people I know have gone through some remarkable adventures in life, in far-away lands. Unusual accomplishments are actually not all that unusual. And speaking six languages is pretty ordinary in many parts of the world.
He was an interesting person with a bit of a bombastic ego. I don't doubt he embellished the basic narrative of his life if it allowed him to focus the attention he adored in a certain way. But I also have no reason to doubt that we got the basic narrative of his life. An interesting person, a sharp-witted ego compensating for a few insecurities, and stubbornness that leads to pointless self-destruction.
If you'd like a different case of stubbornness leading to pointless self-destruction, one that was widely reported in the media, google Jeremy Gillizer.
It's not that the little things actually gel in my mind whereas they don't for others. It's that the big picture gels in my mind.
This is such a long thread! I'm sorry I didn't know him! :(
