Would you vote for Romney if he came out of the closet?
The biggest homophobes often have the biggest anuses, and are as gay as anyone can be. Thus, based on his extreme anti-gay position and history of being a homophobic bully, Romney undoubtedly fantasizes about taking a big dick up his butt every day. So if he outed himself and expressed complete support for gay rights, would you vote for him?

Re: Would you vote for Romney if he came out of the closet?
No.
ps. there is a political forum.

Re: Would you vote for Romney if he came out of the closet?
Romney is an asshole, no matter what else he is. We really don't need another asshole in the Presidency...

Re: Would you vote for Romney if he came out of the closet?
He acknowledged ‘I did some dumb things’ in high school… and, Ron, didn't you tell us you were a juvenile delinquent?
-
Re: Would you vote for Romney if he came out of the closet?
Nope, never going to happen.

Butt I wasn't that kind of delinquent. Did you click on the above link and read the details of his so-called "dumb thing?" The fact that he characterizes the boy being terrorized as merely a "dumb thing" is very revealing in of itself.

Re: Would you vote for Romney if he came out of the closet?
I've dealt with enough sociopaths at my former job. No thanks.

a haircut?

Re: Would you vote for Romney if he came out of the closet?
Holding down somebody and giving them a haircut is just more of those hilarious hijinks, much like rubbing your junk on a passed-out fan of the wrong team, that apparently people think shouldn't be done anymore.

Re: Would you vote for Romney if he came out of the closet?
Sure. If he came out, changed all his policies, eschewed his anti-gay previous supporters, became a Democrat, apologized profusely for his previous behavior, and donated a boatload of money to gay causes.

Butt that poor boy was scared to death, and had no idea what they were going to do to him...Romney had organized a whole gang of boys against him:
"tackled him and pinned him to the ground. As Lauber, his eyes filling with tears, screamed for help, Romney repeatedly clipped his hair with a pair of scissors."
“It happened very quickly, and to this day it troubles me,” said Buford, the school’s wrestling champion, who said he joined Romney in restraining Lauber. Buford subsequently apologized to Lauber, who was “terrified,” he said."
And of course, even when he realized Romney was just cutting his hair, he had no idea what would happen next, or whether the mob mentality would embolden Romney to do something even worse.

Re: Would you vote for Romney if he came out of the closet?
Were there other incidents —apart from this student haircutting incident from decades ago— to justify him being labelled as 'a homophobic bully'?
-
Re: Would you vote for Romney if he came out of the closet?
^ OK; I've just been googling for other incidents but I'm just getting stuff from Dan Savage and this
http://www.newnownext.com/mitt-romne...riage/09/2012/
but I don't see this as bullying.

And definitely not something I'd want in the leader of my country.

I'm not excusing it, I'm just ranking it as a lesser crime on the Scales of Evil.
There's other threads in this forum which argue that teenage crimes can be excused because the teenage criminal was abused.

Re: Would you vote for Romney if he came out of the closet?
Nope,
I disagree with both sides, but i disagree with Romney more
-
Re: Would you vote for Romney if he came out of the closet?
Yes, I would vote for him. I would also vote for him even if he stays straight.

Sure, it's not as bad as if he'd murdered or molested the other boy, but if he'd done those things he wouldn't be being considered for President. I still think that the incident goes a long way to proving the type of man he is. Cut from the same entitled, spoilt, rich kid cloth as George Bush was. They think that they can get away with anything because they're better than you. That lack of basic human compassion carries over into their policy making.

Re: Would you vote for Romney if he came out of the closet?
No, I wouldn't. Even if he were gay, it wouldn't change the fact that he's still an arrogant, lying, flip-flopping snake-oil salesman.
-
Re: Would you vote for Romney if he came out of the closet?
His fiscal agenda is solid, but his social agenda is warped out. Gay or not he changes his positions to fast and to loosely for my taste. John Kerry was criticized for this very behavior back in 04' and lost.

There is the fact that he doesn't remember it happening. Even if this was in the "just good natured ribbing" category, one would think somebody woudn't forget that time you forcefully cut a guy's hair while he screamed for help. If that incident slipped your mind, it'd be interesting to find out what incidents you DID remember.

Re: Would you vote for Romney if he came out of the closet?
Gay or straight, he's still an unprincipled liar. So, no.
-
Re: Would you vote for Romney if he came out of the closet?
^ I believe all politicians are liars. And I'm not surprised anyone might say they've forgotten an incident from 35 years ago. I've forgotten quite a few of the men I slept with 15 years ago.
-
Re: Would you vote for Romney if he came out of the closet?
No. I would not vote for someone just because they are gay. What a stupid question.
-
Re: Would you vote for Romney if he came out of the closet?
Oh, Hell no! Even if he turned out to be homosexual, he's still who he is. He might start to change, might make a habit of honesty after taking that initial step, but considering his background he'd be an emotional trainwreck if he came out.
And voting for a president just because he's gay, or just because he's black, or just because she's a woman, would be idiotic in the extreme. I know plenty of gays I wouldn't trust with my last name, much less my country. I vote because I agree with at least the majority of their policies and ideologies... you'll never find a candidate with whom you completely and wholeheartedly agree, so you have to parse out what is most important to you.
And even if he reversed all of his antigay positions and began to work for our equality, there's still the issues of his smash-and-grab economic ideology, which I think has the potential of destroying the nation, his complete lack of or interest in diplomatic ability, and his frankly ridiculous tendency to say things that are demonstrably untrue: I don't expect a politician to be completely honest, I don't think that's actually possible; but s/he can at least be a much more convincing and credible liar than Romney.

Badddd cityboy-stl...

Having been here since 2005, you of all people should know that you can't judge a thread by the title, due to the limited amount of space available for it. You have to read at least a few sentences of the opening post to fully know what a thread is about. If you had done so, you'd know that expressing "complete support for gay rights" was the rest of the requirement. Because if he's gay and supportive of gay rights, then it's a safe bet he's going to give gay rights more than just lip service.
So next time, before being in such a big hurry to sling a rude, insulting comment at someone, take a few seconds to make sure you know what you're talking about. Otherwise you're liable to make a monkey out of yourself again...

You're making excuses!
With enough imagination, one can excuse rape or murder.
-
Re: Would you vote for Romney if he came out of the closet?
To answer the OP:
Absolutely not! I'm almost insulted by being asked.
Romney wants to give the rich a huge tax cut, and make the middle class pay for it. Plus, he wants to deregulate the financial market, which was what got us into trouble in the first place.
So I say,"Hell no!"
-
Re: Would you vote for Romney if he came out of the closet?
No. His economic policies are inept.
I support capitalism and I believe people are entitled to what they earn. But Romney is selling a winner-take-all approach that would allow the wealthy to take greater and greater advantage, with the salary gap getting wider and wider. Instead of free market fairness, that leaves most people without what they have earned.
His health policies (now that he is a presidential candidate) are inept and cruel.
Lots of third world countries are happy to see people die in the streets of whatever ails them. I don't get why the US should strive for that. The bottom line is, health care is different. It is a human right. (and no, because someone will ask, I don't think boob jobs are a human right - I'm talking about serious medicine.)
And his foreign policy is inept, unjust, and corrupt.
He will rush to war, and he will not be clever enough (or maybe honest enough) to understand the difference between supporting Israel, and supporting the nut-job right wing religious fanatics, just as mad as any crazy mullah, that keep propping up bad Israeli governments - governments who see peace as an obstacle to security instead of a condition of security.

It sure does.
It shows that he has a complete lack of empathy for other human beings. That's a sickness that, I'm afraid, for which there is no cure.
Don't agree with you about GWBush, though. Did you know that he defended a gay guy way back in the 60s? Some people were bullying the gay guy, and GWB stuck up for him.
Yeah,GWB was a lousy-assed President--possibly the worst ever--but, unlike Romney, he does have a heart.
-
Re: Would you vote for Romney if he came out of the closet?
that would make him a self hating man, wouldn't it. with that said, it wouldn't change a thing.
-
Re: Would you vote for Romney if he came out of the closet?
I don't vote the Pres. on sex, I vote who keeps the country strong and thriving, these other issues are used by both parties to confuse you. Gay rights needs to be changed at the state level, and let it spread from there. At the top there is to much resistance, all they do is argue.

that obviously doesn't work which is why you have a few states which allow gay people to get married and most don't. the federal government doesn't recognize same sex marriage and it involves discrimination which is a federal issue so yes, the federal courts have to take care of that. i just hope that whoever is president doesn't screw up the supreme court where our rights get fucked over and we're back at square one. this is getting to be fucking ridiculous.

You think about as well as you spell, honey.
(Nobody ever accused white trash Republicans of being geniuses.)

Re: Would you vote for Romney if he came out of the closet?
(^ Oh dear, you're beginning to sound like Rareboy :( )
I go to election and I vote for party's policies. I don't vote for a person and their personality. After all, as I said before, I believe all politicians lie. It's part of their job description.
