How do you turn on the 'autoplay' feature in Windows XP? I'll be darned if I can find it.
right click the drive in "my computer" and choose properties.
Oops. That isn't the one I was looking for. I guess I meant 'autorun', like when you put a game or program CD into the drive and it runs or begins 'set-up' automatically.
Sorry.
if you right-click on the drive itself you'll see the autoplay tab with options and what-not
Looseliam is correct (as often). And not that you haven't found it by now, it's 2 days later, but this guide graphically illustrates the process if you needed something for reference.
Job done.
As I mentioned in Post #3, I screwed up and typed 'Autoplay' instead of 'Autorun'. Your information and links were helpful in showing me that they weren't what I was looking for.
I finally found a Microsoft page which showed me that the problem was with my registry. The 'Autorun' feature was turned off. Their directions took me into the registry and to the exact line I had to change in order to turn it on. It's working fine, not.
Thanks anyway for your help. ..|
