Alabama man pleads guilty to obscenity charges after rubbing his genitals on an unconscious LSU fan after BCS title game

He's looking at a likelihood of two years in prison. I'm shocked they aren't going to register him as a "sex offender," though. They tend to give that to people who have consensual sex in public places. This, IMO, is definitely more of a sex offense.

I'm surprised this made it as far as it did. I've more or less been resigned to the belief that "that's how sports fans can get sometimes", where the main thought in this case would've been "Why was the LSU fan so dumb as to pass out where the Alabama fans could get at him?" And where the main response to this sentencing would be "LSU fans are pussies".

He will likely serve 2 or 3 months and then get probation. I think they are making a point, they don't want their fans to create a bad image of the school.

Well, he's from Alabama. I guess we should be glad he wasn't rubbing his genitals on his cousin.

I definitely realize sports fans can be assholes, especially when a decent rivalry and alcohol are involved, but a crime is a crime. He's dumb for passing out in enemy territory, but the other guy should still be prosecuted.

Two years recommended is pretty serious, though. Kinda shocked at that. I think a smaller sentence yet making him register as a sex offender would be better.

If seminal fluids were found add 12 years to sentence.

Well, when all parties participated willingly (although drunk), it's all fun. If it's not consensual, it's a crime.

Only if you think "registering as a sex offender" is going easier on someone than a two-year sentence. I hardly think it is. Chances are he'll get out in two months (first time offender), maybe take some classes ("alcohol treatment classes" or "anger management classes" - doesn't really matter), and then walk out with a relatively clean record - I doubt he'll have trouble finding employment in Alabama, for instance. The sex offender thing is for life.

Regardless if the man was passed out and was not conscious of being sexually assaulted, it is still a crime. His face is now all over the Internet as it is being molested by another man's sweaty balls. How disgusting and perverse. I have no sympathy for this sick, perverted guy, and he deserves the charges set against him.
