This is dumb as hell. I thought the episode was pretty boring.
I'm not excusing Andrea's or Rick's behavior -- but look at it this way. Andrea doesn't have the intuition Michonne has. And, Andrea hasn't been handed any proof of the odd things happening at Woodbury. I don't fault Andrea. Things look decent. To her.
And with Rick -- I think he knows Carl and the newborn baby girl who isn't even his are being taken care of. He needs time to mourn. Especially after how things ended with Lori. I'd be a basket case. I think though if he doesn't take the time to be alone and mourn he'll be no good to the group or to Carl and the baby.
But I get what you're saying.

Re: The Walking Dead [merged]
Well that was a confusing episode. I know that the Talking Dead said that walker ate Lori but what was that thing that Rick picked up off the floor?
and I mean did that thing eat ALL of Lori? the fuck? Bicycle girl was devoured by a GROUP of walkers and still managed to have meat on her bones. In this case, one walker ate all her meat and her bones?
Also what did Daryl said at the end? "That's Carol's knot"? did he say knot?

Was it ever confirmed that the baby is Shane's?
I must have overlooked or forgotten that...
And having said that, I just remembered that Shane tried to rape Lori. I had forgotten about that incident. Ugh. Now, Lori's dead from giving birth to his kid.
Shane was such a disaster. He screwed over Rick and Lori so much...:dead:

Walker Bait would be more appropriate. Look, even in death Lori has managed to screw over the group. Maggie and Daryl already put their lives in danger just for a couple of cans of formula. Are they going to do that every week? That baby spells trouble!

I JUST GOT A SPOILER FOR THE NEXT WEEK!!!
Spoiler: (Highlight this box to see the hidden message.)
The episode picks up right where episode 5 left off with the phone ringing. Rick is talking to a woman who tells him that she is in a safe place away from zombies. Rick asks her where exactly but she ends the conversation. Later on in the episode Rick gets another call, this time from a male. Rick tells the person that he is with a group of survivors and has a son and a new born and that his wife died. The man asks how she died, but Rick doesn't want to tell him so the man ends the conversation.
In Woodbury, the Governor and Andrea are getting closer to one another and end up having sex. The Governor has Merle and a small group hunt down Michonne and kill her in the forest. The group finds a cryptogram made out of zombie parts warning them to stay away that was made by Michonne but they continue to look for her.
They end up finding her and a fight breaks out, Michonne kills two of them then some zombies attack her and Merle's group. She ends up gutting a zombie as it attacks her and she gets covered in zombie blood. When this happens the other zombies pass by her this is when she realizes that the zombies can be tricked.
Merle ends up killing a person in his group (Philip), he reaches a town and sees Glenn and Maggie. He takes Maggie hostage and orders Glenn to drive to Woodbury. Michonne sees all this happen Rick gets another phone call this time from Lori, she tells him that it's not his fault and that she loves him and that it's time to move on.
Meanwhile, Michonne eventually reaches the prison and is met by Rick who had just gone outside in the prison yard after having hallucinations of Lori talking to him on the phone. Daryl takes it upon himself to go searching for Carol in the prison. He encounters nothing but zombies on the way, and finds one with a knife in it’s head, still alive. It’s still alive because the one who stabbed it only stabbed it through the cheek and not the brain.
Daryl realizes that it was Carol and that it means she no longer had a weapon with her. Desperate and believing she is dead, he falls to the ground, sitting on the floor. He then notices a door in front of him that someone was trying to open. Daryl takes it to mean a zombie was trying to get in but failed, but at the end of the episode he opens the door and there Carol lays on the ground, alive but almost powerless. |
I cant effin WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He was EVERYTHING.
Now, listen, everybody. This episode was a mess. Andrea was a mess, Rick was a mess, Carl was a mess with those names.
Michonne remained flawless as usual.
Rick's breakdown and outburst towards Glenn was so out of character. I expected more of his attitude when Carl was shot. Not this shit.
I am excited to see hew was on dat phone tho!

I also wish the writers would tighten up the writing for die hard fans like myself. We are watching every detail. I don't like how Glen needed to dig three graves for one body. That makes no sense!
Carol is alive. You can bet on that. Sadly like her daughter she has a bad sense of direction! :p
How do you know those guys that they met in the bar shoot out were not working with the Gov? I mean they assassinated those national guard dudes including the pilot. Why did the Gov kill those men and keep a bunch of people safe in the compound?
Because sooner or later he is going to need living humans to experiment on as he experiments on the walkers trying to figure out how to get his girl back to human. Those people thinking they are safe are no more then lambs for the slaughter.
I'm still not understanding how the dead flesh of zombies aren't fallin apart after a few days or rot and flies laying maggots into their flesh. There would be flies crawling all over that hellish stink of rotten organic matter. Those walkers wouldn't have a chance against the hordes of maggots eating them to pieces within a fucking week.

The bar guys were bad ass. The Governor seems delusional with a few screws loose. The way his character is written isn't convincing to me. He's like an insurance salesmen on a power trip, not some manical dark force.
Oh, Woodbury is a concentration camp with a Mengeleh-esque scientist doing experiments? We'll see, I guess.
Almost forgot, the writers do expect the viewers to have a bit too much suspension of disbelief. The bodies wouls be rotting with maggots and there is no way that they could move like they do. All body systems would fail including sight, smell, muscle, etc.

Re: The Walking Dead [merged]
Maybe they're freshly turned walkers whom were recently survivors and just couldn't stay alive anymore.

Re: The Walking Dead [merged]
Good to know Michonne is gonna show these punk ass rednecks who the woman is!
Andrea is a lost soul let that bitch live her life in that nut house! She likes fucked up men like Shane, so the Mayor is no different. Michonne should just forget about Andrea and let her die.

It's annoying because they spent an entire episode on him just fucking up zombies.
It reeked of "hey guys lets just fill time with Rick beating up zombies cos we have nothing better to write. I'm sure the fanboys will love it." I guess they really needed to hit us over the head with the whole Rick Is Grieving thing.
Not that I'm surprised, because TWD is so hilariously obvious with things like this...

Re: The Walking Dead [merged]
Something feels very "off" about this season. There's more action and suspense but it feels very unreal, whereas seasons 1 and 2 really did seem like the aftermath of a plague. I also don't like the looseness of the writing -- unnecessary graves, Lori's missing skeleton, the loudness of "walker fight club" (I thought noise brought the walkers?) even how Andrea was ready to leave with Michonne and then when Michonne says it's time to go, Andrea backs out once the gates are open.
I feel like with season 1 and 2 the evolving plague is what kept me involved. I was always thinking "What would I do?" We learned how the virus went from person to person, saw the hoard mentality of the walkers and then learned that everyone was infected. We also learned how widespread the virus was. Now there is no new information -- just kind of kooky drama.

No shade, but, some shows just aren't for everyone.
Perhaps they want to stick close to the comic. I don't read the comic, so I don't know how much of what is on the show is true to the trades.

TWD doesn't try to be deep and it doesn't really delve into its zombie mythology (which really makes very little sense). I think they tried but have gradually given up on pretending that there is more to this show than just fucking up zombies and doing things for shock value.
Basically, you're just meant to enjoy it for the kooky drama.

There is quite a few things that they have added to the show from the comic. One thing is the Governor does keep severed heads in tanks like on the show. His daughter is a walker, and they do have gladiator fights. The call in the end is also in the comic book.

Hopefully they name her Judith like in the comic. That is an homage to Judith O'Dea who played Barbara in Night Of The Living Dead, just like Morgan's son was named Duane which was the name of the guy who played Ben.

The show is definitely for me BUT in season 1 and 2 the cast did everything they could to stay away from the walkers (remember Shane and the barn?). Now in the prison and Woodbury they are like household fixtures -- annoying, not too dangerous (except when the writers want to delete a character) and even entertaining. If the writers keep it up, the story will begin to seem rather meaningless and viewers will lose interest.
Additionally I think the Michonne character is increasingly out of place. I care about the group because I can see myself as one of them. Michonne is like a super hero with almost super powers. She and the baby need to go.

Maybe she's one of those people who can pick something up and automatically be good at it. I know some people in real life like that, pretty annoying actually lol.
And yeah, I did like how the first two seasons (with the exception of the Season 1 finale) were set as if a real-life apocalypse would occur. But I don't think this season is too far from real-life. And seeing as though it's a show, I think they have a little more freedom to keep it interesting.

Re: The Walking Dead [merged]
I'm sorry ya'll but the Gov'nah is FINE Andrea better get that good peen

Woodberry can keep Maggie and Glen, tbqh

-
Re: The Walking Dead [merged]
Well, okay, I'll see about Michonne. I saw some of her humanity in this episode. She IS vulnerable. And she gets points for bringing a basket of baby formula.
Oooooooo . . . Andrea is a whore!
-
Re: The Walking Dead [merged]
I don't know what kind of acting direction Danai Gurira is getting, but Michonne isn't translating well from the comic. Her movements and emoting are all over the top and cartoonish. I am not surprised that some people feel that she's out of place. The scowling and the weird exaggerated fighting movements/poses need to stop. In the comics, Michonne is understated and rather stoic--I expected a similar portrayal on the show.

Governor is even sexier n hotter when shirtless
I need him!!!

Re: The Walking Dead [merged]
The episode was okay. I really enjoyed all the parts with Rick on the phone, and then Rick holding his baby for the first time. Amazing acting from Andrew Lincoln as usual.
Hated Andrea and the Governor hooking up. Gross. What is wrong with Andrea? And she's gotten over Michonne pretty fast...ugh. I actually hated everything about her in this episode.
Surprised that I didn't groan out load when Carol was found. I guess Daryl really has feelings for her so I'll deal her presence.
Maggie and Glenn getting outsmarted by an unarmed Merle while they had two guns pointed at him = the biggest fail imaginable.
Rick and Michonne meeting for the first time...It didn't dawn on me that it was their first time laying eyes on each other on the show. In the comic they meet earlier. It's like the show and the comic have blurred into one messy confusing experience for me. I look forward to seeing them interact.
Also, I love the person who made this-- too funny:

The great thing is the Gov'Nah can't feed him any bullshit and give him a false sense of safety because Michonne is there to spill the true scolding hot tea.
I'm ready

After episode 4, I thought he might have a shot at an Emmy. After this episode, he definitely deserves a nomination.

 I agree. But I will tolerate it. It's rare to see an older woman/younger man type of relationship taken seriously on tv/film and I like seeing rare pairings. But...I wish Carol was an interesting and likable character. Blergh. But Daryl deserves to have someone. Personally, I'd couple him with Michonne. They can talk about ninja poses and weapons and shit-- so romantic!

Re: The Walking Dead [merged]
Norman Reedus B.1969 Daryl
Melissa McBride B.1965 Carol
they are really not that far apart age wise...
if it happened to be an older man and younger woman.Nobody would have an issue with it:D

The funny thing is that Melissa McBride is only 4 years older than Norman Reedus! She looks and acts so much older. Maybe it's the gray hair? And he looks a lot younger than 43! With the first season, I could've sworn he was in his late 20's.

OMG. You guys, I had no idea. I just thought she was like in her 50s or something. And he was in his early 30s. I was pretty off.
Wow...well...ok then. (*S*) I will still try to keep an open mind. Maybe they'll grow on me.

Nope, the wound wasn't caused by a walker. You can touch wounds all you want. Their teeth or blood would have to make contact with a human's blood in order for them to turn.

they're all already infected... getting bitten by a zombie just causes you to die and turn faster.

Re: The Walking Dead [merged]
I thought the episode was dull ............. it's all relative
two episodes ago amazing, last week good, this week not so much
guvnor and andrea having sex was completely un-entertaining - he's gross and her judgement sucks eggs
i hate daryll's brother - so annoying - can't wait for him and his knife hand to bite the dust
michonne is starting to grow on me
why did glenn give up his gun? pretty stupid IMO
the bar is so high for the show now that a not so good episode seems like it sucks
