Are we still talking about Enchanted here? This sounds so much like NaughtyArousal.

No, FallenAsexual apparently self-deleted tonight.

Re: Confess something that might surprise others or damage your reputation on JUB - 2012
Actually, no. I know FallenArousal will return and he will read this but I am not exactly looking forward to him. One thing I do like about him was that he is nice to a lot of the newcomers at JUB. I do admit he is a nice guy but I cannot put up with adults acting like teenagers. He reminds me of a teenage who does everything out of the mainstream because he hates his parents but wants his parents to notice that he is a special snowflake.

^^Same person (Naughty/TFA).

Re: Confess something that might surprise others or damage your reputation on JUB - 2012
NaughtyArousal was one my favourite guys on here. :(
Don't know why he was obsessing about his penis size SO seriously. ](*,) Really so silly to define himself over something like that, which, in the grand scheme of life, is just NOT IMPORTANT. And anyone could see from his pics that he was a really good-looking guy (I even had a crush on him) and yet he called himself ugly? And he'd never accept that people might like him for who he was as a person. #-o
Hope he comes back. *wave*

Re: Confess something that might surprise others or damage your reputation on JUB - 2012
I'm not saying shit about NA/TFA just in case he's still lurking and reading this.

Re: Confess something that might surprise others or damage your reputation on JUB - 2012
Yeah, he did have some body image issues. And I feel like he often tried to side against anything that he considered mainstream in order to feel better about these issues and other personal things. That way, he wouldn't have to feel bad about not measuring up in certain ways if he felt people from the mainstream were judging him for it. It's like he wanted to fit in, but also kept a distance in many ways under the guise of being all "fuck the mainstream."
He was a cool guy though. I wish he wasn't so hard on himself about his looks and dating life.
I would welcome him back if he were to return.

Elvin was fun! Are we commenting on missing people? :D

I tend to block some nude pictures and stuff, especially in avatars. I don't think it's prudish as much as I just don't feel like seeing it all the time.

This is why I had a problem with him, he would pretty much bite your head off when you gave your opinion of him in a thread and resorted to calling you a troll and putting you on ignore.

Oh sorry to clear up in my post to Borg I was saying "no" in reference to "we weren't still talking about Enchanted", I know Naughty Arousal was FallenAsexual. :) Thanks for the heads up though.

This was my biggest aggravation with him as well. Why even start a thread asking opinions/advice, if you didn't want to hear it?
I think most people don't really want to fix their lives, they just want to whine a bitch about them... which is ok, to an extent. Just word your threads in a way that isn't asking for advice.

YUP. There was some discussion about advice-- I can't remember where it was, if it was this thread or another earlier back. Where I said I don't get it when it starts to become obvious someone doesn't want advice and just wants validation of what they're going to do anyway, even if it's self-defeating--- but phrases it as looking for advice when they clearly don't want to hear anything but one answer.
If people just want moral support, okay cool. But then it's kinda b.s. to act like "oh what do you guys think what should i do" and then proceed to argue wtih all the answers you don't want.

Although, in my defense, my hard drive is "only" 50 GB.

I feel the same way. I also think it's rather contradictory to disallow nudity in Hot Topics, yet we can have naked bodies and such in avatars and signatures.

Re: Confess something that might surprise others or damage your reputation on JUB - 2012
I hate how nowadays "you are running low on hard drive space" kicks in at like 80 or 100 GB.... more than I think my last computer had total..

I ought to clarify something before I answer this question.
By the word "fake", I mean a guy who dreams up an identity, contrives a past for this identity--often by mining for information from live people--and steals pictures. Those guys do the worst damage, because they manipulate people's feelings. Sometimes, other JUBbers even get banned because of them.
Fortunately, the fakes are relatively rare. As far I can tell, we don't have any here on JUB, although one person's identity has been questioned.
On the other hand, the trolls are common, unfortunately. The Mods are always having to clean up their mess in one way or another.
I personally don't consider Enchanted a troll. I think he's just an immature guy (he's only 19) who doesn't mean any real harm, but steps in shit right and left. Funny thing, that--the younger JUBbers can't stand him (generally speaking), while the older ones are often rather fond of him. Speaking personally, he reminds me of a puppy who keeps chewing up the furniture.

Re: Confess something that might surprise others or damage your reputation on JUB - 2012
^I don't like making personal attacks but your white knight syndrome should have been a passing phase and there needs to be some soul searching on your part why you still have it. Most people after getting knocked down several moral pegs in their 20s get over it. I realized this way back in high school when I spent a few years in therapy realizing that you can't change people [in this case, my dad] unless they want to change themselves. Just because someone is bitching doesn't mean they have a real problem or want to even solve their problem. Again, life experience taught me this when one of my own friends was a "Florence Nightingale" [female equivalent to the white knight] thinking she could change "bad" men. When most of her friends, including myself, confronted her about her engagement, she thought we were crazy but she luckily came around. "Putting a ring on it" does not change the guy into this majestic prince.

There's nothing wrong with trying to see the good in people per se like I think Johann sometimes does. I find it more annoying when the forum en masse tries to silence people or jump down their throats for pointing out that someone isn't legitimately after help or whatever, and is just attention ploying. I don't think Johann does that at all if that's the kind of white knighting you mean.
It is my perception that I see someone who is just after attention fairly early on... but I have to just keep quiet and wait for everyone else to realize it weeks later. If I say something sooner I'm a dick even though it winds up being true.

Re: Confess something that might surprise others or damage your reputation on JUB - 2012
I'm actually depressed as fuck today because of some associations I have with New Year's Eve, but I'm putting on my Martha Stewart face as I host the night for all my friends because I don't want to bring everyone else down into my pity party.

I'm listening, Max, but don't completely understand.
Are you referring to my statements about Enchanted?
