The Christina Aguilera Mega-thread

Okay here's my point of view now...


Why people always compare her to other artists ? I mean everybody copies everybody. Gaga didnt create anything, neither did beyoncé and neither did Aguilera.

The problem is that people expect much more from aguilera and even when she tries to do different things, people always criticize her. when she' doing something popular she's copying Gaga and madonna. When she goes back to basics she has a lack of inspiration... anyway.

Even tho I always supported aguilera, I have to admit that after seing the video, it's not the aguilera I like. That's all I have to say, it's not about she's going gaga or whatever.

i like the fighter mode or the B2B mode. But the trashy aguilera is not my thing. Hopefully the next singles will be more mature

^ I hope so too. To be fair it took me a while to like the "Dirty" Christina too.

I like the cleaned up version of Xtina. I wasn't feeling the Diirty era and I'm not feeling this. Sorry to say but this reminds me a lot of Gaga and only one person can be the incredible goddess that is Gaga. :D

What I don't understand is why can't this chick sell as well as Beyonce? Aguilera's voice is PHENOMENAL but her record sells pale in comparison to her competitors. The public gets it wrong everytime.

I understand why Beyonce sells. It's not about having a great singing voice and it never has been. Beyonce is more of an entertainer (see singer/dancer) than Christina, so Beyonce looks like more of a complete package.

Also, Christina takes more risks in her music and in her image, which gives her more of an edge, but makes her less mainstream; Christina does make commercial music, but her musical style, lyrical content, or her image did not follow a trend at one point which affects her sales. Beyonce has catchier, radio/club friendly music.

Everything is stolen, except the shot with her own perfumebottles the most cheap shot I ever seen in a musicvideo...

She is desperate to be relevant again. She has no real identity as an artist. Epic Flop.

But seriously I don't think someone would do that many obvious similarities in a video if it wasn't for a reason. Lady Gaga steals too, ask Roisin Murphy, Kelis, & Grace.

I think what X-tina wants to say with NMT video is that she can do all the "super-cool" things Lady Gaga does. She wants to proove her talent.
For the most of her fans, she doesn´t need to do it. We all know how great she is,and never mind she had a break for 4 years. We didn´t forget about her.

I have seen similarities to Madonna and Gaga on Xtina's new vid but come on...Xtina is doing her thing and will def. have great success with this new project. I think this is her way of paying homage and respect to them. BTW- Xtina has a great voice and her music is nice lol

I love the song, and I've expecting more from her new album....I hope this will turn out to become another "Stripped", because that's one of the best Album...that I'm keep listening.....

Some audio leaked from her VH1 Storytellers from the songs "You Lost Me" and what I believe is the intro. "You Lost Me" has Sia all over it, I love it.

You Lost Me is AMAZING!!!

That is simply, Christina at her finest!!! It has the old-school, ballad feel that you'd think would've been from her last album, Back to Basics. However, I can totally see her talking this classic feeling song and pairing it with modern imagery.

Ah! I hope she releases this song before the Grammy deadline. It has great potential.

Kudos to Sia, for writing an amazing song!

The more I think about it...the more this song could, logically, be a jab at Lady Gaga.

A lot of die-hard Gaga fans (don't get me wrong, I do own her CD) think she's not a marketing gimmick. Sure the woman is real and all - she's genuine with the whole LGBT bit - but her image was completely made up...she went from a rocker/Norah Jones chick to an androgynous superstar. I mean come on...only a fool would fall for that...:rolleyes:

Perhaps Gaga isn't herself tonight... :lol:

How many of these tracks are actually 30 sec intros, preludes, interludes, outros?

I saw her performance on Oprah and I like it, especially her runs.

I thought her hair was cute but then I thought of this:

her hair was horrible...but the performance was good for the most part

If she would have danced, the performance would not have been lackluster for me.

I'm going to have to agree with everyone else, this single was a total dud.

Christina is struggling to find herself. Her image makes no sense to me. Just yesterday she was on Oprah talking about how her son has changed her life and made her feel so empowered... talking about how she loves being a mother... so I'm a little confused by this video. There's nothing wrong with being risque, but she looks and acts like a $2.00 whore in this video.

Is she trying to be another Madonna with the constant reinventions? When she first came out she was a sweet little pop star on the heels of Britney, then she went the skanky route with "Dirrty," then she tried turning herself into Pink circa "Misundaztood" (even stealing away Linda Perry), then she went "wholesome retro" with Back to Basics, and now she's back to being an in your face slut. What is her real image?

Also, is it just me or does it sounds like her jaw is clenched when she sings? She definitely has talent, but sometimes she just sounds weird. She tries to do too many vocal tricks with all the riffs and runs to the point that some songs (her covers in particular) are almost unrecognizable. Less is more.

When she came out she said she wanted to be a blend of Mariah and Madonna, and I think this is what she's been doing. I do have to agree NMT is one of her worst singles, hopefully she'll release something way better as a second single to save this upcoming album.

Woohoo leaked today. I thought it was a joke that it featured Nicki Minaj but I was so wrong. I love it, it totally better than Not Myself Tonight.
