Hmmm. Interesting sound...
Hmmm...I'm not crazy about the song just yet--but it's only 18 seconds. I do think it'll grow on me when I hear it in its entirety.
Christina is back bitches!!! (!)(!)
Neither am I, standard club fare imho. Christina can do much better than this and I'm hoping she will. :-)
On the other hand, the album cover is fan-fucking-tastic! Now talk about something I'm crazy about. :D Hands down, the best album cover in X-tina's entire discography. With an album cover as cool as that one, I can only imagine how amazing the actual album itself sounds like. I'm definitely looking forward to this one. :D
18 seconds is too hard to judge...
I m not convinced tho
my optimism is slowly disappearing....:(
I like the cover, but i just wish the cyborg side of her face looked more realistic instead of cartoonish (drawn).
I've heard the 18 secs of the single...i'm soooo disappointed. I thought she was gonna blow LadyG outta the water right out the gate! Ain't gon' sink no battle ships with that one! I smell a second single b4 release and/or album pushback...
Imma be fair and not say anything until I hear the whole thing. But you think her people would have had a snippet with better sound quality. Did they record that shit off the radio.
Eh :/ I smell disappointment.
Two new photos were released on her site.
Yeap. The song is already starting to grow on me...and that's just from the clip. I can't wait until tomorrow evening to hear the whole thing. :D
well it sounds A LOT better with that HQ clip...def was not feeling it from the one posted on the website
Not liking the clip at all, but that's okay..I've never liked an entire album or 'era' from her..it's always just been a song or two that really shined. Her vocals are fantastic, but I rarely enjoy how she uses her voice. My favorite songs by her are 'Without You' and 'On Our Way'..
 Nope, I'm serious. I listened through the album on iTunes when it came out, but I didn't like any of it..I never even made it to those songs for a while. Then someone played it for me and I actually thought it was new material ..it's so drastically different from the other circus music on the album. I also like 'Makes Me Wanna Pray' and 'Back In The Day' :).
Alison Goldfrapp on Working With Christina Aguilera
Alison Goldfrapp — front woman of the eponymous electronic-pop outfit — thought it was time for a change. After a long career of atmospheric albums like Felt Mountain and Seventh Tree, her latest release, Head First, takes a decidedly less abstract shape. Along with her bandmate Will Gregory, Goldfrapp merges tangible pop sensibilities with the band’s ethereal signatures. According to Goldfrapp, this musical about-face wasn’t nearly as challenging as sitting down to write lyrics for Christina Aguilera’s highly anticipated Bionic. We spoke to her about the creative process and working with a pop diva.
It seems like you’ve been experimenting a lot within pop — apart from Head First, you’ve also been working with Christina Aguilera on Bionic. What’s different about that?
Everything, really. Because I’m not singing it, I’m not putting my heart and soul in it. When you’re singing on the record, feelings are a very physical thing, an emotional thing. It’s very personal. It’s your voice, I guess. You put that out of the equation and that makes a huge difference. Everything about it is completely different.
It’s hard to be invested.
It’s a bit like when you’re writing music for movies or something. It’s that you’re kind of giving them a flavor, saying, “Here, what do you think about this?”
How intense was that collaboration?
We wrote her songs last year and went to her studio for four days. Together, we wrote some lyrics, and she sang some of the stuff. We haven’t heard anything since. We know nothing, like whether it got finished by other producers or not. We don’t know anything.

^ Well that doesn't sound involved at all...sad.
I heard the course tonight on Access Hollywood. It could be a summer hit, or fail.
I'm not loving the new single at all. I hope it grows on me. Its a little bland.
Yeahh, i was trying to figure out what it was that i wasn't crazy about, and you sealed it for me. I'm usually nuts about her music but its a just too bland for me. Sometimes people over do it with the bells and whistles on a track but not this one. BUUUT....i think its just the part of the song. Its too short for me to judge.
We'll have the song in a few hours now... the song's not leaked for now. Impressive;
Reone and hunt, I m surprised you both liked On Our way & Without you, I dont find em particularly interesting.
Back In the Day, Makes me wanna pray & Mercy on me being my favs on B2B
I love the single. She's not overpowering the song.
Okay just listened to it. Not as bad as the tiny clip. I would have liked it more if it weren't a party song, but at least it has real vocals unlike Gaga...
Eh...indifferent to it. No doubt it will be become more infectious with repetitive listening...
It's refreshing having someone that can sing on the radio though.
i LOVE it! (!)
I like Christina best when she does something more than filler pop. "Beautiful" and "Hurt" were great.
The song is "okay".. but hopefully the rest of the album is better. She's so much more than this.
Wow, this song is a hot mess. Yikes.
Oh shit...my fears are realized.
I don't like the song.
I really want to like it, but I can't. As Lucky said--it's just filler pop. There are dozens of songs on the radio that sound like it.
I'm just hoping to God that there are better songs on the album.
Christina Aguilera Debuts 'Not Myself Tonight,' First Bionic Single
New album is due June 8
On Tuesday afternoon (March 30), Christina Aguilera took to her I Heart Radio channel to premiere "Not Myself Tonight," the first single from her upcoming Bionic album. And judging from the sound of the track, Bionic is a pretty fitting title for the project.
"Tonight" is a whirring, whooshing thing, full of blaring synthesizers and spare snares speeding along over pounding, four-on-the-floor beat. It's more of a classic house cut than anything else, the kind of track you'd expect to hear rattling the speakers at the massive, multi-level clubs of Europe. And on the song, Aguilera sounds like she's already on the dance floor.
"Tonight, I'm feeling a little bit out of control," she sings over curling electronic tendrils. "I'm dancing a lot/ Taking shots and I'm feeling fine/ Kissing all the boys and girls/ Someone call the doctor, 'cause I lost my mind."
"Tonight, I'm not the same girl/ I'm not myself tonight," she belts over the soaring chorus. "In the morning, when I wake up, I'll go back to the girl I used to be/ But baby, not tonight."
Toward the end of the song — which was produced by Polow Da Don and written by Ester Dean — Aguilera even gets to show off her patented vocal pyrotechnics, making several powerful vocal runs. And there's a sweaty, pulsing breakdown in which she pants and purrs ("Yeah, that feels good, I needed that") before the song fades out under the clatter of drums.
"Tonight" was prefaced by a rather robotic countdown on Aguilera's I Heart Radio channel, which featured an android repeating the title of the album while grinding electronic noises whirred in the background and some of Aguilera's earlier hits ("Genie in a Bottle," "Beautiful," etc.) were mixed into the fray. At the song's end, Aguilera asked fans to call in and let her know if they liked the track, before she decided to play the whole thing again.
Bionic is scheduled to hit stores June 8. In an interview earlier this year with Marie Claire magazine, Aguilera said the album "is about the future" and explained that the birth of her son, Max, served as inspiration for many of the songs.
With the song's premiere, we can probably put those "Iamamiwhoami" rumors to bed once and for all.

Although I'm a Christina fan, I can be very critical of her.
To my surprise, I actually REALLY LIKE this song.
Yes, it's very radio friendly, but I think it's a strategical thing--she's been away from the music scene for a long time now and she really needs a radio-friendly song to bring her back into the spotlight.
The song is fire! Pure fiyah!
I am so glad it sounds nothing like Keeps Gettin' Better or Dynamite. I did not like those songs from her GH record.
I like it , and WOW the Bionic intro is sick that creepy robotic voice saying "bionic" is awesome
I don't hate it.
After continuous airplay, I'm sure it'll grow on me to become a club indulgence.
Bionic Intro
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLz3XrhpUXQ[/ame]
ok so I was at work when it premiered but luckily I had my top 40 station on and it just so happened to be #7 on the Top 7 at 7....so I've only listened once...but I was singing it for about an hour after I heard it so I'm gonna say I like it...but I'm gonna give it a few more spins and see my true feelings about it...haha
PS ~ love that Bionic Intro!
Beat reminds me ALOT of Christina Beat Her Down Brown's Forever. Not sure how I feel about that. :?
Meh, overall the song's okay. Not bad but at the same time, the song doesn't generate excitement in me to run out and buy the album when it comes out. Christina has gotta come out with something much catchier than "Not Myself Tonight" if she wants my $11.99.
And I hated the Bionic intro, I hope that earvirus is left off the final version of the album. Now I what a robot sounds like when projectile vomiting. Ugh.
Shut the front door. :D (!)
The love I feel for youse grows every daaaaaayay! The more we get to learn from our mistakes..
Love you guys. :gogirl:
I really think that Bionic intro thing is fake.
You guys realize that for the past few months there have been numerous YouTube videos claiming it's an "official snippet" from the album.
I doubt that intro is real. Why would they use the 'robot' voice from Microsoft Windows? That's really amateur...
Eh, the song is generic and forgettable. At least she'll oversing it when she performs it live, which may make it more memorable for me.
I L.O.V.E it!!!! Totally!
Hidden messages in the album cover artwork?

The intro is not fake they played it on her radio station
^ Yeah, it is. I wish I can pull the source, but someone who had an early listen to the album described the introduction--and it sounds exactly the way that person said it would.
That being said, I actually like the intro better than Not Myself Tonight.
It's not a bad song... circa 2004. Just really generic. Kind of reminds me of 90s dance music. Like Night at the Roxbury style.
The song is growing on me....
The intro not really.. .well not at all
Yeah after listening to it a dozen or so times I think it will be a hit, the snare drum is infectious. You don't even need lyrics. Just takes repetitive listening.
If that intro is on the album, I won't be buying the entire album.
