 @ not knowing who Ellie is. God, if you want anything remotely decent these days you have to listen to British artists. America is total shit at the moment.
so much this
Also Lotus will bomb and its because Christina isn't taking herself seriously. I'd understand if all she did was sing and nothing else but that's not the case. She co-wrote many of the songs on the album. On the good side even if this does bomb it won't affect her that badly. She still is a multi-millionaire who could call it a day and take the rest of her life off.

I'll let you google reviews for Back To Basics yourself. Stay pressed bitch.
And no, just because two singles charted does not mean that they were hits. Ask a random, average pop music listener to name some Christina Aguilera songs and they'll be unable to cite anything released after "Fighter".

Re: The Christina Aguilera Mega-thread
wow you're pretty fucking stupid aren't you? the three singles from back to basics didn't "just chart," they charted at high positions.
and sure, there are a few negative reviews but they are overwhelmingly positive. you're either delusional and clearly choosing to blatantly ignore the positive reviews. don't even front. I can just as easily find negative reviews for Adele's 21 but doesnt change the fact that the REALITY that critical reception was overwhelmingly positive.

wow this is actually one of the most unconvincing arguments ever. what is this based on? your anecdotal evidence? bitch please.
I hope Just A Fool does well for her. Here's to hoping.
Anyway, I can't stop listening to these tracks:
Lotus Intro
Let There Be Love
Blank Page
Best of Me (best track on the album)

Details of the performance tomorrow at the AMAs!!!
Quote:
Christina Aguilera arrives at the NBC’s ‘The Voice’ Season 3 at House of Blues Sunset Strip on November 8, 2012Christina Aguilera is hard at work rehearsing for her big performance at the 2012 American Music Awards on Sunday – and Access Hollywood has the exclusive details on what the pop diva will perform.
The superstar singer will treat fans to a medley of new songs off of her latest album, “Lotus,” including, “Let There Be Love,” “Army of Me” and “Lotus,” a source inside Christina’s closed AMA rehearsal revealed to Access on Saturday.
“The Voice” coach will begin her performance in a pink dress, before vanishing for about one minute in, then reemerging rocking a glittering black bustier.
Christina’s performance will feature an anti-bullying theme, the source said, with her dancers dressed as misfits (including bikers, drag queens, etc.), and carrying signs featuring words associated with bullying, such as “doubt,” “hate” and “fear.”
Catch Christina’s performance (along with performances by Psy, Carly Rae Jespen, Kelly Clarkson, The Wanted and more) on the 2012 American Music Awards – Sunday at 8/7c on ABC.
I used to stan for Gaga and even then I wasn't sure if she was a dude tbh. Can anyone really blame Xtina for speaking her mind? I also read in a comments section somewhere that Christina was not pleased that Perez tried to out Sia or something. How much truth is in that? dunno and to think Christina actually sang at Perez's birthday once. What a douche. All that backstabbing, not surprised even Gaga got tired of him
Yes she sang on his birthday once. He's an asshole but he knows it wasn't right. He recently admitted in an interview that the person he owned an apology the most was Christina. He said he was unnecessarily mean to her.
In other news, this is an amazing Dateline interview. Very personal and different from all the interviews we've seen so far. Her son Max is so cute!!

That picture needs to be updated. It's missing 43 lbs. of chub stemming from late-night wine & taquito binges. Plus it must be photoshopped since she doesn't have clown lipstick smeared all over her teeth.

I don't even know who this woman is anymore. That was really bad. I mean... the message is great. But I don't want a fucking message. I want Christina back.
I see the performance was already posted. Here's her cameo on Pitbull's performance and her red carpet interview:
I liked her performance, liked the way she looked, and the big woman with curly hair and leopard print (don't know if she was a drag queen) was daaaaa best! Lol.

...well at least she got rid of the red/purple highlights...
i liked her dress/makeup at the red carpet. she needs to go easy on the tanner though
yea im not really a fan of medleys. remember her impossible + beautiful performance way back when? I feel like she should have done something like that...two full songs.
i wonder how she'll end up promoting just a fool though...cuz its not like blake can accompany her for every performance...
her voice also seems kind of raspy lately...it seemed fine like two-ish years ago during bionic promo. ?_?

I liked Pink's performance...I was impressed by how she was able to do all that dancing while singing well.
also impressed by Kesha...it was a very energetic performance...and sounded a lot better than I expected.
but really Taylor? it was just dull imo. and her vocals were pretty weak. and did I hear...a bit of dubstep in her song? how is she even classified as country anymore? so sick of her omg im so surprised y'all routine.

Not gonna lie, I'm a total Taylor fan.. but that aside, I liked it because it wasn't just her sitting there with a guitar, ya know? It was something different and the choreography was amazing!
I agree that she's not country anymore (I don't mind that!) and no, she's not the greatest singer, but i still happen to like pretty much all her songs.
Kesha surprised me too! And it's about time Pink some new awards. Seriously, she's one of the best live singers out there.

the "Lotus" portion of that performance should have been longer, and LTBL could have been left off.
Better yet--she should have just performed the title track, minus the vocal effects. :dead:

I'm so confused. I love the album but the image and the marketing have been horrible. I just wish I could have had control over her image and promotion.
SN: Pink's performance was easily the best of the night.
I'll give Tayor Swift this: that girl can write some awesome songs. l just wish someone else sang her songs. I find it ironic that after all this money she's made, it appears she can't afford a vocal coach cause she still sounds the same as the first time I heard her. No vocal progression at all.

Ooo I feel the same way. She either needs to fire her current image consultant/creative director or get one is she doesn't have one yet. She needs to avoid looking tacky and generic. GaGa had Laurieann Gibson, which is really the genius behind GaGa's Brand. If Christina can find a great one for Lotus the way she did with Back to Basics (Jamie King) her new album can be unstoppable.
Just a pity B2B came out way back when...would have been a massive smash if it were released today (with her not wearing ridiculously odd outfits and instead 40s-60s), riding the wave off Adele and all that jazz.

I don't like Lotus era at all. Not liking the songs, her style, her performances, even her voice of all things sounds a bit off on her recent live performances.
FINALLY! A performance I can get behind and love and be happy about.
That was great. :D

thought Xtina looked like Gaga in her AMA performance.
Finally listened to my copy of "lotus" and i really wanted to like it but it was too generic sounding, and xtina was bludgeoning my ears with her oversinging ( i think she knew the materials were weak thus overcompensating with her oversinging). Stripped and Back to basics were just really superior than lotus.
That being said i only liked the intro lotus, and the bonus tracks shut up and light up the sky.

finally
a very decent performance of Just A Fool
the vocal wasnt very great but at least better from her last
and did anyone watch that episode
I read on twitter she's a lil coughing and rasping with her voice when commenting the contestants
so she's a bit sick?
if this true, well Im glad she could do a performance like that
rocketing on iTunes
I hope it can pull enough to stay there until radio release Dec 4th

Two questions for everyone:
Did you buy Lotus (physical copy or digital) or did you download it somewhere from the Internet for free?
Also, what are your top five favorite tracks from Lotus?
Here are the final sales numbers for Christina's debut week. Quite disappointing. But let's see if Just A Fool and other future singles give her longevity.

I bought Your Body second/third week of release. I forget. Planning the same with Lotus. You always hear about second week plummets
I was thinking physical disc via amazon. she also just raised the price by $2 x_x why
Just a Fool is at 17 and 96 on itunes...why is it appearing twice.

I was so relieved after 'Just A Fool' and if you look closely, Christina looked relieved as well lol.
I actually bought 'Lotus' and my favorite tracks are 'Just a Fool', 'Make the World Move', 'Light Up the Sky', 'Blank Page' and 'Empty Words'.
