Nash will not be on fmtv for like a month probably now because other obligations are taking up his time. But he should be on fmtv one day, I assume late june.
It wouldn't have been as bad if it was just people suspecting Nash's return. But when the website owner says so and even has a live show talking about it, it is false advertisement.
In another thread, it said that Hostmaster John announced that Nash won't be on until after some "media event" in mid-June.
I think the lesson here is that when Fratpad or Fratmen announce something interesting that you want to see, wait until the very, very, very last minute to sign up.
I signed up this month to see Nash. And now it looks like I won't see him this month.
I"m not surprised. I still don't believe that he will ever appear on Fratmen again. Not after all of that controversy. I'm glad I didn't join.
I've been a long time member of fratmen. There have been delays and last minute changes before. But I don't feel like they have ever intentionally misled members -- or potential members.
Paul is indeed being featured on the ESPN show "Outside the Lines" that was originally postponed from early May and is currently scheduled to air June 14th. He feels (and I agree) that it would be better to postpone his return Fratmen.TV LIVE! show until after the ESPN story airs to see how it all plays out.
Anyone who purchased a membership for the sole purpose of seeing Fratmen Nash's show and isn't interested in any of the other content on the site, will be issued a refund by simply emailing firstname.lastname@example.org ATTN: HMJohn and asking for one.
Stay tuned ...
... it sounds bizarre...
In a Corbin Fisher video this past summer 'Dawson', another gifted athlete, was talking about how he followed the Olympic track events avidly. I sensed a little bit of regret: perhaps had his life taken a different turn he may have been competing himself. I'm sure he's making lots of money being 'Dawson', but there's something about just being in the Olympics.
Phunk, I agree except for one thing. How will appearing on FratmenTV prevent him from appearing in the Olympics?
I don't want to start a fight -- and I understand where you are coming from -- but it seems like you're saying only washed up people with no futures turn to porn. Or that only naive people who don't understand what they are doing would ever take part in erotic entertainment. Without going into a lengthy analysis of the issues, I just hope that these ideas are changing. I think this type of attitude is what fueled Nebraska's reaction to Paul.
I hope you don't take offense to what I said. I wouldn't chose adult entertainment as my children's first line of work either. I think it would make opening certain doors harder -- but that's because of what I perceive other peoples' attitudes to be. As an employer, an association with fratmen would not bother me in the least.
I'm not making any generalizations about people who work in the adult industry. Rather, I'm thinking of Paul Donahoe in particular. As for his aspirations, all I know what I've read; and everything I've read about him tells me he's this focused, driven guy who, like all excessively focused people neglects the greater world and has lapses in judgment. Fratmen was a lapse in judgment: it was naive of him to think that no one would find out. His story -- the beat-up junk heap of a car, the thread-bare clothes, living hand to mouth for the sport that got him out of his broken family and dead-end town -- is very moving. He's already had a pretty remarkable life. He's got a lot of pluck. He seemed very focused on going to the Olympics.
All that said, I think he has a good head on his shoulders. I think he's an academic All American.
As hypothetical potential employers, obviously neither you nor I would give a rat's ass about whether he did soft-core gay porn. However for a college looking for a wrestling coach, a background in porn would probably be a deal breaker. I don't see the world changing in that regard anytime soon.
Nah, I think Paul should get his degree, continue to train like hell, work as an assistant coach somewhere, and just go for it. Maybe they'll let him stay on in Edinboro -- they seem to like him, and it has a great wrestling program. Be great to see him on the podium and hear the Star Spangled Banner.
It never ceases to amaze me, how people like to put a spin on these guys. Paul comes from the same state that I live in. He didn't live in a dead end town. Unless your definition of a dead end town is anywhere in the rust belt area. What drama some would like Paul's story to be. Paul came from a broken marriage family. So has 50% of most kids. Paul has never regretted nor apologized for his appearance on FratmenTV. To compare Paul to Dawson, is like comparing apples to oranges. Dawson chose to throw away his college and athletic opportunities to become a "Porn Star". Paul went to college and DID get his degree.
Paul has stayed in touch with John from FratmenTV/Fratpad. He is going to appear on ESPN to do a story in June. Whether Paul returns to FratmenTV/Fratpad is still in discussions. Has he thrown is future career opportunities away because of his appearance on the site mentioned? I hardly doubt it. It didn't stop another college from gladly accepting him to continue his education and his wrestling career. Where he once again gained success.
Some might like to think that if a guy appears on FratmenTV/Fratpad it's an end to there future careers. The difference for these guys who appear here from other sites are they talk with us, the members. Where they talk and interact with us and we get to know things about them, unlike other sites where they appear as just a piece of meat. And you never get to know them.
I know three current FratmenTV/Fratpad members while appearing on the sites, who also are either going to college, or are pursuing a successful career.
One guy is studying to become a Dr. of Optometry. He will be taking a summer course in Biology, while working at the Fratpad. While another just got his degree in culinery arts, from one of the most prestigous colleges in the country. At this time he's continuing to get another degree in Business Management, with aspirations of owning a fitness center and restaurant that emphazises healthy food. Another has an active successful career in modeling. Where he's done work for Banana Republic, Calvin Klein to mention a few, plus has done numerous photoshoots for Men's Health, Excercise for Men and other like magazines.
If Paul decides to enter the Olympics for 2012 is up to him. But he's gotten his degree, and whatever course his career path takes him, I'm sure he'll be successful. Who knows what he wants to do with his future. That's up for to him to decide, not us.
The two guys I mentioned in college, have said on air, the money they make helps them with tuition, books, and other things that otherwise they wouldn't of had the opportunity. And the guy in modeling, will do no nude modeling, he has clearly said so during appearances on FratmenTV/Fratpad, and in Bios that I've read. He also has said because of his success in modeling, the companies he works with pays all his expenses. So you might ask, then why does he appear on FratmenTV/Fratpad, because he enjoys what he's doing, makes some extra money in the process, AND he's just a great guy, and I'm glad to say he's become a good cyberspace friend.
Actually, I think that Phunk and Shotglass are BOTH right. I think it all has to do with how much risk one is willing to take versus current needs, future plans and possibly one's stance on freedoms and rights.
So my question is -- what about all of the other guys on fratmen? Did they too have lapses of judgment? Do they stand to lose as much as Paul with whatever career they might want to pursue? Some of the guys, if not all, might want to pursue careers much more lucrative than college coaching staff. I'm just wondering if you think it's improper for all of the guys to work with fratmen or just Paul.
In Paul's case specifically, I think if Nebraska had handled the situation differently there would essentially be no story. It would have been a one day event in the media where everyone got to make crude jokes. (The newspaper writers did have fun with some of the headlines.) Nebraska could have said that Paul was disciplined internally -- and his wrestling career moves forward with little interruption.
Quite honestly, I think most high profile collegiate wrestling programs would have handled the Paul and Kenny incident similarly. Homoeroticism and frank homosexuality are the 'dirty laundry' of wrestling, the 500 lb pink elephant on the corner of the mat that nobody wants to acknowledge. It may be wrong, but it's another thing I don't see changing anytime soon.
If gay wrestlers are common knowledge, why is everyone involved in the sport still so uptight? Do all the wrestlers know which among them are gay but don't want to be stereotyped themselves? I'm asking because I still suspect you have a tie to wrestling -- which you didn't answer before! Did you used to wrestle?
bref/anyhow...when will Paul show up eventually on the site????
Here's a thought to the site owners... have concrete plans before you advertise the event on the site and all over the internet. It comes off as really amateurish when you have to reschedule a show at the last minute because of "technical issues" or simply a change of mind.
Refunding membership fees is one thing, but I doubt most people who fell for the deceit would know about that offer unless it was directly stated on the Fratmen website directly rather than on a JUB post.
i think these guys should do what they want to do ....with out other ppl sticking there nose in other ppl business.
So... any updates on when/if Paul will be performing LIVE at fratmen.tv?
Also, I'm curious about the cam scheduling process at fratmen and fratpad. Is it done day-by-day? Weekly?
I noticed that there is a schedule posted each day, but do members have an extended schedule available to them? Or do they have to wait each day to see which performers will be online and at what time?
HostmasterJohn, if you read this, it might be nice for nonmembers to see the weekly schedule.
so now what????
I thought HostmasterJohn said during his Wednesday Fratpad chat that Nash needed a few more weeks to finish up with classes and then decisions would be made.
I'm being selfish, but I hope both Nash and Cal return eventually.
I went to Fratmentv and there is Nash's picture with a "Come see Fratmen Nash" next to it. And of course it is right next to the "Live" button. Good advertising.
One hot looking stud. I'd take him down - in my bedroom!!
...so he is showing soon?
Doesn't this turn u on?
During Hostmaster John's cam show last night he addressed the subject about Nash/Paul. He said he had spoken to him this week, and it doesn't look like Nash will be appearing anytime soon, if even at all.
Nash/Paul has sponsers that he stands to loose should he appear again on FratmenTV/Fratpad. John didn't mention it, but just perhaps Nash/Paul does want to compete in the 2012 Olympics.
As much as I wish I could see Nash live on Fratmen, I will be glad if he chooses not to. I wish him all the best.
What I don't get is that everyone wants Nash to avoid fratmen so it doesn't hurt his future, but everybody loves that all the other guys continue to appear on fratmen. The other guys have families and lives and goals too. It seems like the other fratmen are being degraded.
I'm having a hard time articulating exactly what I mean. I'm not trying to argue that Nash should come back to fratmen; I just don't understand the double standard with regard to the other models.
And it's not about Paul being a public figure. Did anyone outside of the wrestling circle know who Paul Donohoe was prior to the "scandal?" Can anyone name the guys from the last US Olympic wrestling team? I remember other fratmen models talking about people in their hometowns discovering their work. The issue for me isn't about Paul, it's about how we view, value and react to any models who work in the adult industry.
I have posted somewhere else about how society views porn. I personally think the only people who have a right to frown on porn are people who do not have sex and wishes not to have sex. I think it's hypocritical when people frown on porn but do the same things, just not in front of a camera. ;)
so when is he showing up??
so people from Fratmen? any explanation why u said he was coming back on the site and eventually he didnt..?
Yes what happened with that? It seems to have all fizzled out. Is it happening or not?
"Life is wrestling, the rest is just details" is not only a t-shirt logo but could just as easily be Paul Donahoe's personal motto. The guy eats, breaths, and shits wrestling, and there is nothing wrong with that. Real wrestling, and not that WWE bullshit, is a beautiful sport and extremely under appreciated.
Paul's a smart wrestler. He brings more brain than brawn to the mat. He had talked about training for London, 2012. He will likely make his life in wrestling, coaching at either the high-school or college level. And while most of us think it shouldn't be, porn in the past will be a problem in his attaining any of these goals.
Paul was smart to say no to more Fratmen. His solo is once again available on the site -- that damage has already been done so why not? I hope he's receiving some kind of extra payment for it over and above his original three grand. After all, as a result of the controversy he is probably the site's biggest draw. However additional tapes would only add insult to injury and that's the last thing he needs.
Jeez people .. the schedule was from 3 freakin months ago. Let it go. It's NOT. GOING. TO. HAPPEN.
Let this thread slither back to page 20 and die, because seriously. I get that Nash is smokin, I'm a huge fan myself, but it's getting kind of sad how some of you are acting like clingy ex-girlfriends gasping for false hope.
If it's ever going to be rescheduled, trust me, the producers would spread the word and publicize the shit out of it. Nash is one of their biggest commodities. Everybody and their grandma would know about it.
Let's all just hold hands and move on together, shall we?
