I've been trying to upload pictures through the Manage Attachments interface, but all images I've tried to upload just showed me a red '!' button. I'm sure they were within the prescribed dimensions and filesize, but even the basic uploader would not upload my files. What could be the problem? Thanks!

Try reducing the size and ensure that the pics are of the acceptable format.
