I was following a thread this morning about a married guy going to a sex party. Where did it go it was an interesting thread?
It was here a minute ago.
I am not crazy though? It is gone now?
I was gonna say, I was just reading it a minute a go... it was all getting a bit heated and that... must have been deleted.....
Is it me or does there seem to be allot more censoring going on around here lately????
I was actually replying to that thread and itīs gone.....Maybe someone complained. Who knows.
There should be a way to know when threads are removed, an icon similar to the "moved to X forum" (or moved to purgatorium or under revision...). Transparency might help to avoid misunderstandings.
The thread is currently being looked at while we decide what to do with it.
No re-direct to the thread's current location in quarantine was left because it would be pointless. All any member would see if they hit the re-direct link would be a notice that they didn't have authorisation to view the page.
yep - i posted a reply in that thread....i just checked my own posts and....poof....all reference to the thread is G...O...N...E -
the poster was asking for advice about what to expect at the party....and all he got was moralizing....talk about hijacking somebody's thread!!!!!
i hope he got some answers from somebody before his post was deleted...
and i agree....there should be a "deleted" notice or something so those of us who are following a post can be informed of its dissaperance....
Nothing has been deleted from the thread -- yet. The thread will be returned to the forum when we figure out how to deal with it.
Thanks for the update Goula. Another alternative is to move similar threads to a non-flame zone. Hijacking and imposing moral views are not very effective ways for a good dialogue.
Yes and no. Technically that thread could be in Coming Out & Relationships. But you can hear the tumbleweed rolling down the street over there. In Hot Topics it got a lot more exposure, which is a good thing for a controversial question like that.
However, I do think that when people ask about a personal issue even in Hot Topics, there ought to be more of a no-flame attitude. I mean, give the poor guy a break. I'm sure he didn't know what he was getting into.
I think people are getting weary of hard stomping on people having fun in threads while overly aggressive rants are allowed to play on and on unchecked. There has to be a bit of equity in rules enforcement. Mods and Admins are exremely sensitive to the expressed needs of the community here and you may be seeing them respond to that.
I think that we may have to accept that if we cant be nice to each other, the threads are going to disappear. I didnt read the thread in question, and I don't know what its all about, so I may be offbase, but honestly...
there are nice ways of disagreeing and there are unnaceptable ways of doing it. If someone is pouring their heart out and honestly seeking a sollution, why can't we be respectfull and at least find a reasonably kind way of offering our advice?
In the thread discussing hijacking it became a bit more fleshed out as to what people think a serious thread is and what people expect in regards to behavior in one.
If that was a serious thread and the threadstarter appeared to be taking some disrespect just for asking a question, then you have your answer.
It appears to be back on the board.
It is gone again I hope it was not because of my comment in it this morning.
it became about someone else.'
the threadstarter became a secondary consideration
sadly
Well I messaged him with a website that I know of , he would be better off there not that I am saying he is not welcome here, that is not what I am about. However at the other website he could start a thread like that and would get allot better reaction and responses
He would also have had a better time of it in Coming Out & Relationships or Bisexuals & Straight Guys, as I told him in a PM. But I don't think a newbie would be expected to know that.
..................so a case of now you see it now you dont.........hope it gets resolved one way or another........
it came back
I assume with points issued since it had to be pulled twice for review
unless.....
