I got up early this morning,
Woke up to cardinals arguing
In the woods outside my window.
I considered, half-asleep,
(and somewhat crick-necked)
That I've always been ambiguous about birds.
I don't dislike them. The world needs them.
I enjoy the oddities of their biology...
Puck kneeled beside the casket, eyes closed as he placed his right palm against the tight aged grain of stained oak. They watched, all of them; he was known for things such as these. Few were the days that passed without the definition of his words: a quote of some kind, lines written by some Romantic that never had a place in the world until Puck had so decided. Tears rolled unchecked along cheeks flushed red, his breath coming in quiet gasps, broken by sharp sniffles and the strain of keeping
Life - your sense of focus,
When everything's been done before.
And I - I've lived unnoticed,
This is one thing I know for sure:
It's all the same.
Love - you're feeling helpless,
You can't take this chance again.
So sing you fallen angels,
For on your breath this world begins...
Time - this great adventure.
One last mile, can you get up and start again?
Truth in your sweet intentions.

In times like these, a fact forgets itself...
Olympic truths, where once revered, fall short.
Relieved of duty; heedless of their health,
Amnestic former testaments consort:
"Has anyone seen Gravity? He's late..."
Said Relativity across his cards.
"Quite likely fallen down again," smirked Faith.
A pause erupted; grinning eyes grew dark.

When honest duty dies a quiet
This is one I just wrote last night - it's a whopper - I'm one of 12 writer's picked for competing in this particular contest. The contest itself has four prompts to include - 1 quote about Light, 1 quote about Dark, 1 photo about Light, 1 photo about Dark. You only have to use 1 light/1 dark but I went for broke - the cloaked man and the rain in the open palms were the photo prompts, the two quotes are too obscure to really explain, but the idea is in there, as per requirements. I hope it goes
