North Carolina Marriage amendment 1

Well, today is a big day in North Carolina. It's the day that homophobes get a chance to tell everyone just how much they hate gay people. Amendment 1, is said to define marriage between a man and woman only. The current North Carolina constitution already bans same sex marriage. The only reason this new "amendment" exists is to fuel the ignorance that people have concerning gay, bi, and transgender people.
Of course I was very happy to vote against the amendment. That being done, I'm afraid that the amendment will pass. I hope I'm wrong!
