I've been hearing rumors about Alexis Arquette (brother of Rosana, Patricia and David Arquette) undergoing a sex change operation and that he's going to have the entire thing televised. Is there any truth to this?

Not that I find the guy attractive, but it's hard to believe that anyone would want to go from this:

...to this:

He doesn't look very convincing as a woman.

and if/when this operation happens - what are they going to do with his penis? what usually happens to the leftover penises from these types of operations?

The leftover penises are usually made into hospital food aren't they? I mean isn't that why they taste so good?

And whoever this tranny is, any operation on them could only improve their looks.

They remove the core of the penis, keeping the skin. Then they make a space up into the body, and push the penis skin up into it (like the inside out finger of a glove) to make a vagina. Sometimes they can save the nerves from the head of the penis to form a clitoris.

Only problem is in this case, is the Alexis's dick is so big - the skin is going to make a very baggy vagina!

However, if the news is true, and that's what Alexis wants, I wish her the best of luck!

It is true. I think she is the transgender person that is currently on the new season of the surreal life.

I never would have guessed he, should I say, was so well endowed.

It doesn't matter how well endowed they are. If she's a woman she's a woman and no undwanted 'attachment' will ever supress that. I don't mean to sound like I'm shouting you down, but I have many M to F and F to M trarans friends so I'm aware of the psychology.

Within the past few days, I had seen a television interview with Rosanna speaking about Alexis' "reassignment". She is completely supportive of Alexis, but I noticed that she did appear to refer to Alexis in terms of "He" and "She" interchangably.

After reading this post here, I found a piece in "Variety" dated October 13, 2005 titled "Changes abound in A&E docu - Arquette project will culminate in his completed surgery". According to the article, A&E is co-producing the two hour documentary under the "Biography" banner with BBC 4 and it is scheduled to run in the "first quarter" of this year.

Please forgive my ignorance given the topic of "gender reassignment", but I was curious if anyone here could enlighten me as to a question that comes to mind here. If Alexis (as a physical male) considered himself a gay man, and assuming that the gender of his sexual partners does not change, would she be considered to be "heterosexual" upon completion of the procedure?

As far as I'm aware. All my trans friend are bi, so I can't be definitive. But good question though.

Well, I'm not Alexis, so I can't really say how he considered himself, but based on my interactions with transgendered friends, he probably always considered himself a heterosexual female. The homosexual male label would have been placed on him by outside observers. By the way, there are homosexual transgendered people as well, meaning that they liked the opposite sex pre-surgery and the same sex post-surgery.

How sad! I mean, if that's what you feel you need to do then so be it. But his wedding tackle is really quite nice to look at! It'd be a shame to see that lopped off. http://justusboys.com/forum/images/smilie/icon_wink.gif

Deep sigh. You think VH1 is broadcast everywhere? Most people who speak English aren't native speakers, and a lot of native speakers aren't gringos.

It would be kind to say It comes on VH1 here in... (fill out your country).

There are a lot of people who would disagree with you. I'm one of them but I acknowledge you opinion and won't jump down your throat, but take a look at some literature on Trans body identification and maybe you'll see why that was offensive. Not an insult, just a suggestion.

Wasn't he the boyfriend Jennifer Tilly killed in the movie "Bride of Chucky"?

And you know, gender goes a lot deeper than what is or isn't between your legs. Just because we look at his penis and say, "Oh he's a man." doesn't make it true.

Some children are born with both male and female genetalia, the doctors and parents decide to put the child under surgerical correction only to find out later they chose the wrong gender for the child.

Some children are born with female parts on the outside and later discover that they have testicles in their abdomen. Some are born with boys parts and later find that they have cancerous ovaries in their abdomen.

Some people have one sex organ hanging between their legs, they may feel and act that gender, but they may posess the opposite gender's chromosomes.

Those are physical examples that can be medically explained.

If sex organs and chromosomes can be fucked up enough to explain why someone who looks one gender feels like another gender ... then why can't someone's brain have a condition that makes them feel like the other gender too?

Alexis has a woman's brain, it's just trapped in a male body.

And some transexual men actually go on to live life as a lesbian. I know of two married men who became women, their wives divorced them, then they went into lesbian relationships.

Orientation, gender, so much none of us understand.

It is quite unfortunate you cann't have a pussy from time to time to get fucked by men pussywise. But I certainly never would want to be a woman. I feel much too much a real man and I am totally crazy about men. So I never would want to be a woman. Moreover dick-to-dick is the most marvellous thing in universe.

Can a sex change be reversed?
