Old thread, I know. But I brought it back to comment on this, Somebody else said it, but there are a couple reasons why you'll probably never see a movie with them doing a final one-time comeback thing.

1. Many of these guys are now dead, especially the ones from the 70s and 80s.

2. Most of the ones who are still around no longer look anything like the way they did back then, and they probably wouldn't want to get naked in front of a camera now. There are a few exceptions, like Kevin Williams. He still looks good and is still in good shape. Sometimes you find a recent pic of a few of the ones who are still around, and after you see the pic you understand right away why a comeback in porn is not something even they would want to do. (Strange, isn't it, that some really good looking dudes age really well and still look good even when they get older, and others begin to fall apart big time by the time they hit their late 20s). Notwithstanding, not all of them who no longer act in porn are completely out of the adult business. Some of them are still actively escorting. I recently saw one 80s porn star on an escort website offering his services for $500 an hour. A bit outrageous, I thought. But he WAS a pretty famous dude back in the day, and I guess he still has fans out there who will pay that much to get fucked by him.

3. Many were never gay to begin with and were only doing porn gay-for-pay as a way to make money when they were young and had the looks and the body to do it. Quite a few of the really popular 'gay' stars back then fall into this category. Some are now married (to women) and have families, have moved on to entirely different careers, and have put the porn thing behind them. Some even deny that they ever did gay porn.



I agree with the post that described the 80s as the Golden Age of gay porn. The stuff they've been making since the late mid to late 90s just doesn't compare. My uninformed theory is they have limited 'shelf-life'. Gay porn - especially vintage - was mostly obsessed with youth and 'twinks' so there is a very short time between 'legal age' and 'over the hill'. I imagine most of them started in their early-to-mid 20's so after a couple of years, the studio would quickly dump them for the next lot of boys.....
