Jet Set

Jesse Santana took the porn world by storm in 2007, appearing in nearly a dozen major film releases and becoming the industry's first dual-exclusive model. He racked up eight GayVN nominations for his work, including "Best Newcomer" and "Performer of the Year," ultimately going home with a single trophy for "Best Threesome," in Jet Set's Just Add Water. Here's an interview I conducted with Jesse last July.

I didn't take much notice of Jesse Santana in his first two films, but his role as the lovesick caveman in The Stone Age was pretty unforgettable. Because the dialog in that film is all grunts and groans, both in the sex scenes and the non-sex scenes, Santana has to use gestures, body language and facial expressions to communicate, and he is sensational. The skimpy costume — a loincloth and a bone around the neck — helped direct attention to his slender but totally hard and muscular frame.

While The Stone Age may have given Jesse a chance to expand his acting range, films like Big Dick Club 2, in which he gets double-fucked by Albert Long and Cort Donovan, gave him a chance to expand his sexual repertoire (not to mention his sphincter muscles).

In July 2007, Jesse made porn history by becoming the first model to have a dual-exclusive contract in which all parties are required to acknowledge all other parties in publicity and marketing.

Before working in adult entertainment, Jesse was a competitive rider of Western pleasure quarter horses in his home state of Kentucky. Now that he lives in Texas, he looks forward to attending his first gay rodeo.

Since July 13, Jesse has been an exclusive model for Jet Set Men, where he just completed filming Fraternity Gangbang 2 and can soon be seen in Just Add Water and Cumming Clean. Later in 2007, Jesse will star in Jet Set's big film of the year, to be jointly directed by Chris Steel and Chad Donovan. That film, as yet untitled, will also mark the return of Shane Collins. (Ed. update: As of March 2008, Cumming Clean has not been released. The then-untitled big film was On Fire! Shane Collins changed his mind and did not return to adult films.)

What are your basic stats?
I'm 21, 5-foot-8, 7.5 inches, 165 pounds. I've had some college. I plan to go back to school next year and major in Exercise Science.

Where do you live?
I just moved to Dallas from Kentucky, where I have a new place and a lot of stuff going on. Besides my work in porn, I'm starting up a T-shirt business.

How did you get into porn?
I always thought it would be kind of fun and interesting. Two years ago in a gay.com chat room I met a scout for Corbin Fisher who told me to send in pictures. I waited a year then I sent some and last May (2006) I stated working with them. But I got tired of Corbin Fisher's "straight" theme and the fact that they pay you more for being straight, so I got a hold of Chi Chi, who later referred me to Falcon.

What was your first film?
It was Knob Bobbin' for Chi Chi, then I did Dive in Deep with Doug Jeffries for Unzipped.

Do your family and friends know about your porn career?
My dad found out and said he doesn’t care, but he also said "you should find something else to do." My mother found out on Myspace. My sister told me, "mom knows" and we didn't talk for a couple of weeks. Now we talk, but "it" remains unspoken.

When you live in western Kentucky, everybody knows everybody's business. All my friends were being rude to me about the porn thing but they all watch it anyway.

How did your dual-exclusive contract come about?
Through the magic of (my agent) Howard at Fabscout. He always has my best interests in mind and he brings ideas to me and we talk about it. I had already done a scene for Cocky Boys in LA/ Burbank.

What does it mean to be a dual exclusive?
Basically, any publicity for me must mention both Jet Set and Cocky Boys. The contracts are both 12 months. On the Web site I will do all kinds of scenes, but at least two solos and a three-way. Blake Riley has a dual contract with Chi Chi and Randy Blue but they are totally separate.

Do you have a favorite scene so far?
With Tyler Saint in the movie I just made for Jet Set, Fraternity Gangbang 2. He perfectly fits the image of guys I'm attracted to. It didn’t feel like sex in front of a camera, it was more like real sex — very intense sex.

Who would you like to do a scene with?
C.J. Madison and Dean Monroe.

Do you have a day job or will your porn contracts keep you busy full time?
I work with Marci Fletcher in Austin; she books dancers.

Where did you get the name Santana? Do you have Hispanic ancestry?
No. When I stared working for Corbin Fisher I wanted to be Lucas Rich, but they only use first names and said I could not use Lucas. They chose Jesse. Later when I needed a last name to do videos I used the name of my drag queen friend in Illinois, Jody Santana, who supported me when my other friends didn't.

What about relationships?
I have a boyfriend (Guy Parker). July 17 was our six-month anniversary. He just did his first porn scene a couple weeks ago and I was in it. It was a 10-man gang bang orgy for Little Big League 3. Then he and I did a two-man scene for Jet Set on our anniversary.
